Clare takes Teresa’s head and tracks down the collector, Rubel, and asks the collector to put Teresa’s flesh and blood inside her. Back in the future, a band of three Claymores find Clare in town. The three will end up being Clare’s teammates in hunting down a Voracious Eater in the area. However, as Rubel tells Clare, Voracious Eaters are not old Yoma, but rather Awakened Ones. The public cannot know that the powerful beings are actually mistakes of the Organization, i.e. Claymores that surpassed their limit.
The team to hunt the Awakened One is:
- Miria: Rank 6 | 7th Awakened One hunts
- Deneve: Rank 15 | 2 Awakened One hunts
- Helen: Rank 22 | 0 Awakened One hunts
- Clare: Rank 47 | 0 Awakened One hunts
Lucky is left in town, but is shocked to learn that Clare is the weakest of the Claymores. Miria is intrigued by Clare’s inclusion of the team, because when they first met, Miria’s scouter showed that Clare’s power level was over 9,000. However, during a sparring match, Miria finds that Clare is actually weak as hell and was just haxxoring that time. As Clare is passed out, her shounen latent ability begins to kick in as she remembers Teresa’s sweet moves. However, when the team encounters the Awakened One, they find their information was wrong; rather than an average AO, they find that the male Awakened One is quite powerful.
It was amusing to hear Helen talking so much smack about Clare. The mention of Lucky as Clare’s boytoy seemed to have a hit a nerve. I guess as the second lowest ranking member of the team, Helen feels better about herself when she badmouths lower ranked Claymores. Too bad Clare probably possesses wtfpwn latent abilities that will eventually come out. It’s also interesting that Rubel specifically mentions that this era’s rank 1 and 2 are exceptionally powerful.
Having assembled a team of Claymores, I noticed how odd it was that Helen is rather gluttonous for a Claymore. Then I realized that being a Claymore is a great diet plan. In other news, Clare and Helen have red handles, while Deneve’s is green and Miria’s appears black. They all seem to have different footwear as well. I thought for sure that the Organization would have standard issue gear for everyone, but perhaps as you go up the ranks you get to request special aesthetic upgrades to your gear. The number 1 Claymore probably has a Hello Kitty keychain on her sword.

Good point with respect to the gear. Helen’s is customized for her Go-Go Gadget Arms power, as we’ll see next time.
No. 1 and No. 2 do, in fact, have special outfits! And are insanely powerful.
Hahahaha! That last Hello Kitty remark made me laugh
I hope you’re enjoying the show as much as I am.
The next episode is the first good episode of the series, but it must be a reason I have watched 10 episodes so far. I hope they keep the emo crying scenes to a minimum from now on. Rocky doesn’t live up to his name, instead of a badass fighter he is a little crying bitch.
So that’s where you’re looking at.
That would certainly explain the skimpy outfit of many heroines.
I suspect it’s Hello Yoma in their world.
Saker, are you kidding? I understand if people don’t consider Claymore “great” or if they don’t like it at all but I don’t see by which standards the previous episodes weren’t good. That is unless all you want to watch is Claymores fighting monsters.
Next episode is the first one with tentacles.
some of the logics in this show is messed up. how the bandits acted before and after she saved the village. and i realy hate all the whining and crying. the next two episodes is the first episoden whitout bad logics and whining whatsoever.
the 10th episode is the first episode where the hints about the organisations bad side gets more played out. thats my main reason for liking that episode.
