Claymore 04

Although the Voracious Eater (henceforth VE) has the upper hand, the sounds of a platoon ring through the halls, and the VE leaps away to escape. Clare is bedridden for 2 days, and Lucky stays by her side the whole time and prays. When Clare wakes up, she comes with a plan where all the clergy are checked for Yoki (Yoma aura), so that when the Yoma is found the soldiers can simply impale both Clare and the VE.

During this whole check, Lucky sits alone with the strange statue that they were supposedly trying to sell (the statue resembles a certain somebody). Naturally, the corpse from before ends up being the VE, and Clare, Galk, and knife-guy leap to the rescue. Interestingly, the VE disarms Galk and proceeds to fight Clare with his large sword (hinting at the true nature of VE). Clare, however, busts open the statue and reveals her own claymore. She then owns the VE, but collapses from using too much of her own Yoki. Fortunately for Clare, Lucky’s deep love for her and willingness to die for her somehow allows her to shut off the flow of Yoki and retain her human nature.

Even though Madhouse is flying through the manga chapters, they still remember to leave in a lot of the subtle foreshadowing. Now Lucky has a claymore of his own so that he can start up his uber-shounen training and support Clare. Additionally, it seems that becoming Awakened is not a gradual process; sometimes you just suddenly pass the limitations.

I also like how Lucky saved Clare by being all emo. The new plan to keep Clare’s Yoki in check is to purchase a portable DVD player and the thinpacks of Air, Kanon, and Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, in case Clare is ever in a special jam.

Those bandages have to be enchanted. Not only do they preserve and emphasize the shape of her breast, she also wears them above her clothes. Or is that just some kind of emo accessory?

I wear my underwear over my clothes.

Also, I was just wondering how it is that they had a special hollow statue in that specific shape. Not only did it fit the claymore, it looked like a certain someone in episode 5. Did Clare have to have it made first? Or does she have a lot of them lying around? Maybe it’s just a mold, and the statue is made out of Plaster of Paris or something.

Isn’t that kind of out? I thought the next hype was to swap trousers and shirt. I must admit the zipper scratches a bit around the neck.

Anyway, I don’t think it’s a mold because Clare does not look like a model geek. I suspect it’s a shrink Claymore. She must have made it out of her friend. Maybe she left the innards to Lucky? At least he looks well-fed to me considering the circumstances.

He’s ALWAYS well-fed - he gets to have Clare’s portions of food at inns. But I suppose that eating so much would still make one hungry on the road…

You fell for that trick? Don’t forget that she’s still half of a monster. Her digestion is slow and like a snake she only needs a good meal every now and then. I’m sure she just fattens Lucky.

Clare: I’m sorry you had to eat all those extra dishes.
Lucky: It’s ok. That first dish was kinda salty, though. And the other tasted strongly of marinade.
    Clare: =D

I wonder though? What do you mean though the zipper scratches around the neck? DOes it honestly go up that far?
