Claymore 02

It’s time for a little more insight into Clare’s world, and as Lucky roasts up some delicious desert crocodile for dinner, Clare reveals that Claymores barely need to eat. In truth, she has just ordered a new set of clothes and didn’t want to buy the next higher size (desert crocodile is very fattening). The collector who brings the clothing is amused by how whimsical Clare is being by dragging Lucky along; there is mention of how Clare is projecting her own childhood on Lucky. The collector also inspects Clare’s naked body for wounds and gives her a black envelope.

At the next town, Clare parks Lucky in the inn, and there he meets the collector. Lucky learns that Claymores are all infused with the blood and flesh of Yomas. Additionally, while the human mind keeps the Yoma power in check, all Claymores eventually succumb and awaken as Yoma. When this happens, the awakened Claymore are eliminated by their comrades. Clare’s old buddy Elena has begun to lose her grip on humanity and sent the black envelope to Clare. Clare and Elena joined the organization at the same time, but Elena used a bit too much Yoma-juice. Now Clare has to take her down while Elena is still human, and Lucky can only sob about how hard it is to be a Claymore.

So far the anime is moving very quickly through the manga material, and a lot was revealed about Claymores. I believe it is mentioned in the manga that the reason all Claymores are women is because men found Yoma-juicing to be too much like orgasmic gattai and became awakened much too quickly. It looks like the organization is rather insidious, as the girls are housed in miserable dungeons while they are turned into Claymores.

I was amused when Lucky thought Clare was off taking a gigantic Yoma dump when really she was just meeting the collector. Yeah, that’s it! You show that turd who’s boss. (Additional thought: Did Elena turn Yoma from not getting enough fiber??? Think about it…)

I’ve got it! Proper fiber intake obviously keeps excess youma from building up in the intestinal track! The only problem is that afterwards you have to kill it without destroying the toilet. Smaller weapons are clearly called for. Perhaps a sgian dubh in keeping with the Scottish themed weaponry

Meta: I’ve got links, that captcha gonna screw me again it doesn’t work in in IE6, FF1.5, or FF2.0 on 2 different machines. I’ll try Opera now…

I have yet to start of any of the new series’ that have come out recently however I think this would be the better of those that came out. I am somewhat disappointed this time around as there hasn’t been anything to really look forward to unlike last time when there was Death Note and Code Geass. I guess I might just give this season a pass and hope for something good next time.

Unfortunately, I fell asleep about half-way through. This was due my high uptime though. The only thing I can remember is Clare is anorexic and she seems to have some kind of model contract with a mormon. I don’t quite buy that this lizzard really tastes well. If I was Clare, I’d check this little punk for drugs.

It would have been awesome if the contractor delivered take-out food to Clare in the forest. Haha, Clare doesn’t have the heart to tell Lucky that his cooking is no good.

Being stuck in dungeons while being turned into Clay-MOAWR? Now that’s as tough as basic training can get.
