I've watched the first episode of the new Ikkitousen series. The best part was the ending animation. If the whole show was animated that way, you could watch just for the eye candy - albeit the tits are ridiculously overdone. It wasn't as bad as I expected - I've never seen the first series - but if you don't listen to music or some audio book whilst watching teh hawt f3m4l0rz, you might get somewhat bored. I don't assume it's really meant for anything but mas.. eh meditation, is it?

You know, all this bitching between the Shinku/Suigintou camps is like a quaint reflection of the rivalry between the dolls. :P

"It's not her fault!"
"Is to!"
"Is not!"
"Is to!"
"Is not!"
Etc...

Cheers.

>>> The way she just snapped on Shinku who had not done anything wrong just disgusted me.

What a bunch of nonsense....

Even after Suigintou showed Shinku her Rosa Mystica, Shinku refused to accept her as a Rozen Maiden. That's like telling a disabled person that she doesn't qualify as a human being, and should just accept a life as someone's little pet. If you don't think that's wrong, I don't know what to say except that I have zero respect for you.

I'm not saying that it's all Shinku's fault, but to say that she did nothing wrong is utterly ridiculous.

Skane: I'm sure Ender will enjoy those series, but I've found that I am not a huge slice-of-life fan; at least not for my regular blogging schedule.

Chris: I got burned too badly on the last Negima and didn't really have any desire to watch fillers that looked like PPD. As for Death Note, I felt the exact same way about reading the manga, and couldn't fathom watching the anime after knowing most of the plot twists.

Matte: Yeah I can see myself starting some of the new season, and then quickly dumping it if something better comes along. I'm all around very not-excited about the series waiting in the wings.

The winter season has been a big "meh" for me as I'm only watching three of the new shows airing. Deltora Quest, Nodame Cantabile and Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou and even then I don't know if I'll keep watching them (Except for Nodame Cantabile, no way that's going to fail me!)

I didn't enjoy the Rozen Maiden OVA that much either for pretty much the same reasons. In fact it surprised me a little bit because I had pictured Suigintou's past as something really tragic and that she would be more of a victim. Instead it turns out she's actually pretty annoying and, you know, obsessive.. The way she just snapped on Shinku who had not done anything wrong just disgusted me. I mean here I've been having some kind of misplaced pity for Suigintou for the whole duration of the first and second season of the show!

Of all the shows you mentioned, only "Ghost Hunt" along with "Asatte no Houkou" are worth a watch. Otherwise, I agree that this season (and, in my opinion, the previous one as well) was rather weak, so I resorted to watching older shows which I hadn't seen so far.

Death Note started interesting but I got rather tired of it, I don't think I'm going to catch up with this one.

Was "Negima?!" this or last season? I just watched it recently and this was pretty good because it was like watching Pani Poni Negima, albeit it didn't quite beat PPD.
