Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru 10

Seeing Takako all confused has Maria feeling genki and humming the OP. However, Takako is reaching out to Mizuho, and they even share a cute lunch together. Shion notes how cute Takako has been lately, but Mizuho is oblivious. However, Mizuho’s mojo is undeniable, and during a last minute impromptu rehearsal of the kiss scene with Maria, Maria can’t take the heat and has to get out of the kitchen.

The planetarium comes out awesome, and Kana’s portrayal of a lovesick cherry blossom tree (turned into a girl) is excellent as well. Mizuho’s climactic kiss scene goes off without a hitch, but when it comes time for the bed scene, Takako’s dress gets caught on the bed and tears into pieces. Mizuho wisely tosses his cloak over her and gives her an unexpected kiss, appeasing the crowd and sparing Takako from total humiliation. Naturally Maria comes into the theater right at this moment and is stunned. While Takako can barely breathe, Maria finally admits to herself that she loves Mizuho.

As awesome as the last episode was, this one was even better. I’m such a sucker for drama, and OtoBoku really delivered. For the Takako fans there was some intensely moe sandwich dining, as well as the unexpected fanservice at the end. I was laughing so hard when Takako’s dress got torn up to shreds just from that tiny snag. The look on Mizuho’s face was priceless as well. Of course Maria’s internal struggle is very captivating as well, so it will be interesting to see the race for Mizuho’s heart begin.

I did have some questions about the episode though. Why wasn’t Kana wearing her confidence ribbon on a day when she would need it the most? Why does Ichiko sleep and why does she float all around the house while sleeping? And just how nearsighted is Maria that she has to plant her face into the script just to read her lines?

“And just how nearsighted is Maria that she has to plant her face into the script just to read her lines?” Covering up here embarassment, I thought,
