Mizuho bags Yukari for the night after a round of Maria’s scary ghost stories. Takako and Yukari seem to scare pretty easily, but Mizuho and Kana have a high tolerance for the scary stuff. Kana’s love of mysteries leads her to investigate the strange nature of Mizuho’s room. In addition to being the only room that faces north, Mizuho’s room and furniture were specifically laid out in his grandfather’s will. However, the real kicker is that 22 years ago, a sickly girl crawled to the room to meet with the Elder; unfortunately, since the Elder was away for the summer, the girl waited alone in the room and eventually died.
Kana can totally relate to this hero worship, and searches for the charm used to seal the girl’s ghost. Wouldn’t you know it, the stuff is printed on cheap recycled paper, and is already ripped. The giddy Takashima Ichiko is released, and she doesn’t even realize she’s a ghost. Ichiko immediately glomps Mizuho (who of course resembles the Elder of 22 years ago), and Mizuho bags another girl for the night.
I guess I shouldn’t be complaining about the dunking and the prince carries, what with ghosts now involved. Ichiko was fairly amusing, although the whole time I just felt like I was in an auction. I can accept that Ichiko can touch Mizuho, and that Mizuho obviously has a connection to the Elder of the story (was that Elder Mizuho’s mother?), but why didn’t Ichiko’s face pass through Mizuho’s fake boobs? Clearly I need to stop thinking so much while watching.
There were a few very notable things about this episode. First off, the number of consecutive rainy days in this episode was rather unusual for anime. Also, the show has begun to kick the fanservice up a notch. The pseudo-yuri sleeping scenes accompanied by very suggestive wake-up scenes were one thing, but the Kana closet-search was especially sinful and lolicious. To keep the shock value high, this episode also features
the worst eyecatch ever.

I think you’re right dude, trying to approach this anime rationally is doomed to fail. In fact there should be a “leave your brain at the door” warning at the beginning of each episode imo. :P
I loved that eyecatch! :P Electrolysis 4tw!
What? I -loved- that Eyecatch, to remind the rest of you that Mizuho’s a guy… so the fact he MIGHT wake up one day with stubble’s just… perfect.
Besides, the next ep starts off almost perfectly if you want to see yet ANOTHER variation on ‘symmetrical docking’.
