Mizuho is working on being more girly and has already mastered the art of taking freaking forever in the morning. However, when he discovers the cute giraffe eraser that Maria snuck into his pencil case, Mizuho ends up giving the eraser away to the elegant Juujou Shion. Shion is happy for this display of friendship, but knows that no true girly girl could ever give away such a cute eraser, and deduces that Mizuho is actually a boy. However, she’s willing to play along, and Mizuho’s popularity skyrockets.
With both Shion and Maria in her corner, Mizuho can do no wrong. He gets to peep on tons of girls in the locker room (receiving merely a slap on the wrist), becomes the star of the basketball game when he takes the rock strong to the hole and dunks it, and gains serious consideration in the election for this year’s Elder. The Elder is the top onee-sama in the school and Shion was last year’s Elder (before getting ill and having to sit out the rest of the school year). Maria is excited, but her rival, student council president Itsukushima Takako (and her toadie, Sugawara Kimie) is not supportive. After all, if no one runs for Elder, then the student council president wins by default…
I can’t believe it, but this episode was even funnier than the first. When Shion mentioned that Mizuho’s aura the other day was different, did she mean Mizuho’s “OMFG I am going to crap myself” aura? And was Shion’s being elected Elder similar to the Madden curse (a spoof image could easily be rigged)?
Meanwhile, in spite of some of the silliness, this episode remained grounded in reality. At first I was getting angry at the illogical events, like Mizuho giving away that awesome eraser, or Mizuho dunking the ball, but when Takako stormed on the scene, things started making sense again. Seriously, how can you come into a school and just be loved? There will always be haters, and it’s about time someone started hating on Mizuho for being so popular and beautiful. How could you possibly have an all-girl school without jealousy and catfighting???
