Like some kind of crazed otaku, Miyanakouji Mizuho’s grandparent requests that Mizuho crossdress and attend Seiou All-Girl’s School. With the help of the orgasmo-harp and a copy of Zoolander with subtitles, childhood friend Mikado Maria renders a makeover that leaves Mizuho looking like a beautiful girl. Now it’s time to fool everyone and avoid the student council president, who is a total hater.
We meet bouncy head teacher Kajiura Hisako, who along with the Headmistress knows that Mizuho is a boy. Other than that, everyone is fooled. Mizuho manages to make it through the day solely focused on getting to a private toilet. Back at the dorm, Mizuho meets Maria’s underclassman lackey, Kamiouka Yukari. Mizuho also meets his very own gopher, uber-loli Suoin Kana. To just utterly tease and torture Mizuho, Maria declares they’ll have a pajama party the first night, and lets the jailbait glomp and molest Mizuho.
I thought I’d try a different series, and while I was initially apprehensive about massive amounts of yuri, this series is actually pretty funny. Aside from the wonderful SD scenes (the ED is strangely amusing), all the typical cliche yuri scenes become so much better in the context of Mizuho packing probably-not-so-serious heat. On the one hand he gets to stare at hot girls that aren’t on guard against lecherous guys, but on the other hand he has to curb his enthusiasm. It’s like the opposite of series like Ouran Host Club. It’s a subtle thing, but crossdressing always lends great depth to random hero-worship love. Music and animation quality were decent, and I’m looking forward to more episodes (there was even gokigenyou in this pilot).
I liked Maria this episode, and hopefully she will turn out to secretly be a jealous, insecure, and conniving bitch. She has that vaguely LunaMaria look, but without the ahoge. Coincidence? And who else wants to know what Mizuho’s fake boobs are made out of?
