Zero no Tsukaima 13 (Final)

Of course the fire dragons of Reconquista own the magic knights and griffin riders, but fortunately Saito decides to forgo his eclipse trip and help out in the defense of Tarbes village. Saito’s plane easily takes out all the dragons, but Ward’s wind dragon proves more problematic. With no ammo, and the eclipse well underway, things look bad.

Naturally at this point Louise hops in and goes SEED. As Saito protects her and makes a typical shounen speech directed at no one, Louise performs the lengthy incantation that releases a Void pulse and wins the day. Cromwell tries to use his ring to make Kirche and Tabitha orz, but Guiche bonks Cromwell with a branch, and Tabitha picks up the BoE Ring of Andvari. Louise gives Saito a kiss, renewing their contract, and Saito picks out a new cell phone for only $50.

This was a rather predictable episode, though I liked seeing Henrietta’s battle gear. I’m not exactly sure what she was planning on doing since her forces got completely whipped, and it didn’t seem like she had any military background. At least Guiche got a bit of military glory, and even took down the main boss… one-shotted! However, Fuuke is still on the loose, and I noticed they snuck in a shot of her black underwear as she was running away.

All in all not a bad ending, although Louise was grating on me with her harsh treatment of Saito. He was really making headway with Siesta through his explanation of baseball, too. Don’t hate the player, hate the game.

Remind me to renew my next cellphone contract at whatever company you use cuz um…yeah.

I didn’t like the ending, but I liked the episode and the series as a whole.

one thing that got me wondering is….ground cavalry vs a flying battleship?

Does this sound like not a good idea to anyone else?

Either way, good show. But this is a perfect example of why i dont like tsundere characters. Louise could get Saito if she was just like “hey…i like you” instead of making up an excuse that allowed her to kiss him without lowering herself to liking a commoner or whatever she was trying to do.

Well, the ground vs. air thing wasn’t a good idea, but then I’m pretty sure that was their only idea (and option). Though it was rather funny watching horses charge at an airship; what were they planning on doing once they are under the ship?
