We get a quickie flashback of Karura, Derihourai, and Katumau escaping from their castle. As the soldiers advance on them, Karura forces Katumau to take Derihourai to the waiting escape ship, while she remains in the blazing castle.
Back in the present, Hakuoro’s gang has a successful raid. They then decide to send in a strike force into the castle by way of the sewers, just like the Teenage Mutant Ninjas Turtles. While the scrub villagers act as a decoy, Hakuoro leads the dream team into Swonkas’ throne room. Swonkas is a sicko and a stalkerwho uses human bodies to fertilize Karura’s favorite flowers from her homeland of Ralmanion. Seems the whole slavery thing was just a way to get a second date with Queen Karurawaturei. In a rather anticlimactic battle, Derihourai easily kills Swonkas. Derihourai wins, but he can’t get a second night with Karura either, and has to go home with Katumau.
Karura is a craaaazy player, and it tugged at my heartstrings to see all those lovestruck emperors begging her to go out with them. Even though she promises the world, she is a total liar, though! I give it 4 more episodes before Karura won’t even return Hakuoro’s phone calls, leaving our favorite emperor to mope around with Eruru.
Touka was pretty stealthy in this episode. I dunno, I think Oboro may find himself out of a job soon.
