Yue sends his forces to raid the Tusukuru countryside, and although the Shikiripetim parties take tremendous losses, the tactic gradually whittles away at the Tusukuru army. At the palace, Touka is freed, and she tries to pull a Benawi on Hakuoro. However, Touka is much too hot to die, so Hakuoro stops her and instead sends her to return Orikakan’s body to Kuccha Keccha.
Back at Shikiripetim, Yue seems to be gathering fighters for experimentation; however, the only specimen that has interested him so far is Hakuoro. Yue has employed the services of a mysterious winged man (of the same race as Urutorii), and their test subjects seem to really want the powder that Yue possesses. No doubt these experiments will come into play, because now that Yue has sent all his forces into Tusukuru, Hakuoro is coming with Eruru, Karura, and Touka to try and gank Yue.
This series just keeps getting better and better with each episode. While the art style was a little strange this time, it wasn’t necessarily bad. The way the raids were choreographed made each scene worth replaying over and over again, and really stressed the losses incurred on the battlefield. Hell, even Gura is wounded by a scrub soldier. In spite of everything, Hakuoro’s hero-units allow him to hold out against Yue’s zerging tactics, and the style of each fighter is both distinct and consistent.
I really liked the tension that was set up with each battle. Hakuoro is worried that he doesn’t have all the answers, but he is hardly paralyzed by uncertainty. Faced with an invader that wants to raze every village to the ground, Hakuoro’s calm, patient, and calculating style allows Tusukuru to hold out much longer than expected. I look forward to seeing how Yue holds up against the combined forces of Hakuoro, Touka, and Karura. Oh, and Eruru too, but she’s more like a familial chaperon than a possible participant in any Shikiripetim lovu lovu developments that might pop up.
