Like a reality show contestant, Shinji tries to get an alliance with Shirou. The Matou family has lost its magical mojo but still has the knowledge, whereas Shirou has the mojo but no clue. The byproduct of this is that there must be another Master at school, since Shinji cannot be sensed (as he is magically impotent). Anyway, Shirou turns down the alliance offer and Shinji decides that he will just sit on the sidelines for now, since he sucks about as bad as Shirou. Back to LFG, Shinji!
Before letting Shirou go, Shinji tells him about a witch atop the Ryuudouji temple on the mountain where Issei lives. It seems there are actually two Servants, Caster and Assassin. Issei mentions to Shinji that a hot chick has taken up residence with his family and their 50 monk friends. Meanwhile, Rin decides to live with Shirou, and Sakura and Taiga don’t take the news well. At the same time, Saber wants to go kick some ass at the temple, but Shirou wants her to hold off for a few more episodes. Saber is tired of not getting screentime, however, and scampers into Assassin’s trap as everyone is asleep.
Another intriguing if slow episode, as Shinji gets turned down again and another alliance is revealed. Speaking of provocative, what is up with that position that Rider is always in… I wonder what she was in a previous life. I can’t believe that Shirou would use a command mark just to keep Saber out of his bed, but even crazier was when Rin said that you don’t have to treat Servants as people, as this insinuates that poor Archer doesn’t get to sleep in her bed T__T.
I’m totally ready for Rin and Sakura to just have a catfight over the apron. Also can’t wait to see Archer and Saber try to team up to gank Berserker. I was amused that Masters summon similar Servants, as this implies that Saber is probably kinda stupid.

Is it just a coincidence that we wind up doing our reviews around the same exact time? Do you by chance watch Eclipse subs…?
What I don’t understand is that Rider doesn’t seem bloodthirsty, and actually more humane than her Master. Maybe the connection between Master and Servant has a bit more to it, like a balance. Maybe it is Saber who is smarter and more calculating, and Shirou the dumb one. But they are connected through their chivalry. I don’t know.
Caster must be making all those monks rethink their chastity vows. Looks like Shirou’s not the only one starting a harem!
Heh, yeah I watch the Eclipse subs. Saber is probably just dumb in a different sort of way =D. And let’s face it, Shinji is just trying to seduce Shirou so Rin can’t have him (since Rin rejected Shinji, it’s a vengeance plot!).
The thought of caster making all the chaste monks horny is just hilarious. Poor Issei…
Saria: Good observation about the Master-Servant issue with Rider. Will be explained in due time
Kabitzin: Well, she’s clearly succeeding *grins* … and after seeing a spoiler pic of Caster, I can understand why.
Anyway, FSN totally shines when it comes to the harem aspect. Having Rin on the screen already suffices for major greatness. And seeing her handle not only Saber but also Sakura and especially Taiga is awesome.
“Really? I thought you were bullying her.” LOL
I’m disappointed, you missed the best screenshot chantsu.

*cough*

LOL!!!! I kind of came to the same conclusion when Saber wilfully headed for the showdown with Assassin. Can’t conceive wat Ilya and Berserker can have in common though.
They probably both like kittens or something =D.
As for Shinji wanting to see Shirou’s… well that scene just made me uncomfortable ~_~.

(Alexander Anderson voice) AMEN!!
Maybe DEEN should have made a curtain raiser that emphasized the harem angle instead of the fighting action aspect. But seriously most of my bloated expectations for a faster paced series came from that curtain raiser.
I definitely want to be Shirou this time. I’d accept to be completely dumb (like he seems to be) to have this many hotties available at MY house (and catfighting together, of course).I’m soooo envious.Shinji looks slimeballish like no one in this ep. Issei…even if he talks about women looks yaoi-sh.Rin is wonderfullish. Sakura is 1/2 Honoka-ish and 1/2 Kaede-ish. Saber, as usual, way too serioush.
But if you were Shirou, you’d have to do dumb life-threatening things like take a smacker from Berserker! A double edged sword indeed….
By the way, “Yawn/Good Night” would be a much more appropriate title for this show. I only watched episode 1 & 8 and it was still mostly blah blah blah… I’ll be back for the big bang in the last episode.
Ender: yup ^_^ the last two eps will suffice, tho’
And that’s a good one, Chris! I’ts a bit Fate/oyasuminasai, nonetheless, I love this stuff.

I’m stoopid, but I was laughing with myself for 1/2 an hour just thinking about it…
Wyk72: Don’t forget to have “Start-o Line” playing in the background too…
This is great!
Shirou, baka! Saber, Sakura, Rin and … later
Who can say NO to this three ladies?
I hope for more fanservice
Shirou is not THAT stupid…. he turned down that slimeball Shinji because he didn’t want to betray Rin. The fact that he wanted to be a good widdle boy for the Magi With The Awesome Legs shows that there’s SOMETHING between his ears. If I were Shirou, I wouldn’t mind be screwed over (no pun intended) by Rin.
As for Saber, I’ve always imagined her as a lead guitarist for some kind of rock band, perhaps a Tolkien-based band. Though that T&F uniform does sound appealing…
Ok, I admit it, I bash on Shirou, but I kinda like the char as a whole. He’s not dumb, he’s just…how should I put it… “rigid” ? “stiff-to-death”?
That’s why his interaction with Rin is so lovely, methinks.
Only one thing he’s done leaves me -_- … he should have let Saber sleep in his room. If your servant calls for it SO many times, dammit, let her have it ^_^!
Ah, and I’ve d/l some fanart (ok it’s a *cough cough* “doujin collection”) and there are two or three shots with a chibi-Saber in t&f outfit! Talk about loli powah…
