Fate/Stay Night 02

Rin has a little flashback about when she was young and her dad went off to participate in the war for the Holy Grail. It’s her family duty to secure the Grail and she’s a bit upset that she didn’t get the strongest servant class, Saber. Archer reassures her that he’s gotta be pretty damn good if she summoned him, and then makes some kickass tea. Later at school, Rin senses an enemy and has to stick around school after classes to lure the stalker out.

Over at Shirou’s place, Sakura notices that Shirou’s hand is bleeding mysteriously, but he waves her off. Shirou’s friend, archery team captain Mitsuzuri Ayako, tells him that Sakura’s brother Matou Shinji has been acting like an ass ever since Rin rejected Shinji. Shinji backs up the tale later by dumping his school duties on Shirou, and while Shirou is cleaning he happens upon the battle between Rin and Archer and the homocidal Lancer. There can be no witnesses to the battle, so Lancer peels off to one-shot Shirou, but Rin revives Shirou, much to Archer’s chagrin. However, when Lancer returns that night to finish Shirou off, a summoning circle (painfully slowly) completes itself and Saber is summoned just in time to use the Cover ability on Shirou and save the day.

The story picked up quite a bit, and it was a good second episode. There are some definite mysterious forces, and I like the mood where anyone could be an enemy. It seems like Shirou has mad charisma points, especially the way Rin was like “ZOMGREVIVE” when she saw Shirou get owned. Speaking of Rin, her and Archer get cooler and cooler every episode, especially when Shinji gets rejected cause he’s just not enough of an archer for her tastes. Haha, real men dual-wield.

    >> =^-^= Saber LFG PST =^-^=

You bring up a good point here. Saber is like the priest of Fate/Stay Night. Everyone wants her, but the only one who gets her is some little punk whose only power is scrap metal analysis. Though I guess the punk could be replaced by a twelve-year-old kid WHO MYSTERIOUSLY LOST HIS CAPS LOCK KEY and thinks it’s funny to wipe Blackrock Spire groups.

Definitely a thumb up for Fate/Stay Night. The Rin/Archer couple is kewl. And even the fact that Saber has become Shirou’s Servant is amusing (a bit cliché,but this is anime after all). This guy has this “Powah Ranger” mentality of being a hero of justice….but he’s got nearly zero Powah to begin with – but the luvly&mighty Saber has come to him ^_^ .. ahh beautiful and awkward situation…the nearly useless male and a mighty Female (ok, it’s a spirit…but a hot one).

Hooked me, let’s hope for some good weird dorama/action stuff.

Rin is soooooo hot when annoyed :P

I loved the detail of Shirou’s hand bleeding, and him seeing the sword just before invocating Saber. I’m hooked. Next episode, Saber-time :)
