Captain Aizen has hoodwinked us all! While the Death God community was out hunting down Ichigo and the others, Aizen had been lingering in the shadows and waiting for his opportunity to take what he wants, which in this case, he is after Rukia! According to Aizen, Rukia has the secret powers of a Hougyoku buried inside her, which basically weaves the powers of a Hollow and Death God together to create one ultimate powah! And after all, you can’t have an evil villain that’s not power hungry :P Although I won’t get into details, Aizen explains to his various victims of how he manipulated them and used them against one another.
Man, after thinking that there couldn’t possibly be anyone more powerful after watching the Ichigo/Byakuya battle (except maybe for old man Genryuusai), Aizen shows that he’s a force to be reckoned with as he easily disposes of Hitsugaya in Bankai mode, and he brushes off the combined forces of Ichigo and Renji (however, you do have to note that both of them are madly injured at this point). Fox Head (I don’t remember the name of this Death God :P) however does make an appearance at the end of 61 to smash Aizen in the head, but Aizen will probably end up using 2 fingers to deflect that blow. However, the Death God/Hollow combination appearing in Ichigo now all makes sense since he’s the one who inherited Rukia’s powers, and it looks like it’ll take that same kind of power to defeat Aizen at this point.

Actually if you look back to the training arc with Sandal-hat Guy before they head to SS, Ichigo’s Hollow abilities/curse activated when his chain was cut and when he was on the verge of becoming a hollow he managed to come back from the brink, (but apparently not enough) appearing in both Shinigami robes wearing a bone mask, which Ichigo broke off afterwards.
And don’t forget, Sandal Hat explained that the power Rukia lent Ichigo was literally cut from him by Byakuya, but NOT his own inherent ability to become a Shinigami. And boy there’s a doozy of a spoiler that explains why Ichigo is so powerful >:)

Speaking of the filler eps, they should do some kind of silly Mahou Shoujo Yachiru arc…but with BLOOD and guts and her oh so innocently slashing Hollows in the face..>:)
Thankfully it also explains why Rukia sucked so bad at the beginning even though she was supposed to be a real hot rookie with the Shinigami. Oh man, Komamura’s intentions are impure!
The real cliffhanger is what will happen to Kon!
It’s just Aizen’s sword’s ability that makes him powerful. Since its ability is complete hypnosis, he can simply make his opponent think that he’s blocking the blow with a finger when he’s actually right behind his opponent and getting ready to slash him. He may not be able to actually deflect the attack, but he just makes the enemy think that he has. Before they can say “WTF?” they’re bleeding from a major artery.
Komamura probably keeps that bucket on because he doesn’t want scores of female shinigami chasing him around and ruffling his furry head. :D:D:D
Rainey pretty much said what I was thinking: basically, Hitsugaya was easily disposed of in Bankai mode because he was under the influence. I’m sure he’d probably lose either way but just not as quick.
But Aizen can only hypnotize people who have seen the release of his bankai. I don’t recall that Ichigo ever did. So what he saw was real, Aizen did deflect his blow with two fingers.
Dam, Aizen is hella strong, the way that he evaded the Ice Bankai was really kool, but if Ichigo can’t do crap, then, Aizen must be some kinda, special Shinigami or something.
No, Aizen can hypnotise whoever has seen his initial release, not his bankai. Since he released his sword back there with Unohana and Isane, his sword was already released when he arrived on the hill. So Ichigo was influenced by the hypnosis as well.
I’m curious to know what Aizen’s bankai is, though. Since his sword is already so frightfully powerful, I have no idea what’s left.

The Blind guy is not immuned to Aizen’s abilities. Aizen’s said it himself, his sword affects the sight, sound, and taste of anyone influenced by it. So being blind will only allow him to pinpoint Aizen’s location, should they battle. Ofcourse, if his sense of smell and hearing is tricked to believe that Aizen’s is a friend at the time; he could just walk up and stab him.
I think they’ll resort to sensing aura’s and energy output to fight Aizen. There were seens were characters were doing just that. The other option is to use an attack that strikes in all directions with a massive radius (cause there is now way of hiding from that). Example: A Nuke, A Tsunami, A Tornado, etc. Characters capable of such attacks (depending on the author): Ichigo cause of his massive energies, and Byakuya who can send his cherry blossom peddles in every direction (alot of small hits can do as much damage as one big one. Plus, Aizen moving through an ocean of Byakuya’s peddles is like tossing paint on the invisible man).
