This one was mostly a practice and prepare episode, with Nanoha finally getting her mojo back, and Fate getting introduced to everyone. Fate and Nanoha have a little chat about how the villains in their show are typically just misguided good people. Chrono commissions some extra troops for a plan, and Admiral Leti tells him that the Liezi twins (Gil’s familiars) miss him. On the Cloud Knight side, the doctor tells Signum that Hayate may need stronger treatment, and so Vita and Zafira go to another world and farm magical beasts. On their way back, however, they fall into Chrono’s ambush, and Nanoha and Fate join up as reinforcements. With the stage set, it’s time to bust out the souped up Raging Heart Excelion and Bardiche Asault along with some new fanservicey transformation sequences!
Although it was a transitional episode, there were a few neato points. First, there’s talk about twins, and then we find that Vita and Hayate have matching clover shirts! Vita shows that she’s played enough video games to know that farming is totally the way to go, even though it’s mind-numbingly boring. Also, it seems the shafting of Chrono has begun: first Amy totally denies him the orange juice (why?!), and then Zafira shows how big strong muscles can block the Stinger Blade Execution Shift (as Chrono seethes in rage).
It appears that Shamal uses her own energy for the cartridges, so how exactly do Raging Heart Excelion and Bardiche Assault have cartridges already? Did Yuuno make them? More importantly, why didn’t we get to see Raging Heart and Bardiche trying to come up with sweet new names for themselves while they were recovering?!
