Back at the hospital, Nanoha, Raging Heart, and Bardiche are all laid up, but thankfully Nanoha’s Linker Core has already begun to heal. Nanoha’s happy to see Fate, but it gets even better: Lindy is planning to adopt Fate, and the next mission requires everyone camp in Nanoha’s neighborhood. Chrono explains that their enemies use Velka-type weapons, which differ from Mid-type magic in the use of concentrated magic cartridges. Chief Adviser Gil Graham (Chrono’s mentor) praises Fate and lets her join the mission, and Lindy enrolls Fate in Nanoha’s school, Seishou Elementary. Amy, however, is somewhat disturbed to see what Yuuno and Arf look like on Earth… None of this compares, however, to Bardiche and Raging Heart displaying Error E203 and requesting part CVK-792, a Velka-type cartridge system.
On the Velka side, Signum refuses to engage in fanservice-laden bath time. Zafira picks up on it, and Signum admits that she was wounded by Fate. They decide to avoid the Time-Space flunkies by harvesting Linker Cores on other worlds. Vita is very dedicated to filling the book in order to be with Hayate forever, and everyone else shares a knowing, awkward look.
The story moved along, and while there wasn’t any action, things are definitely in motion. Fate and Nanoha’s reunion was very cute, and things are turning around for Fate. For now, she’s got a swank house, new friends, entry into Nanoha’s school, a pretty pseudo-step-mom, mission clearance, and a cute new puppy that can get her into rated R movies. I would have liked if they had shown Bardiche and Raging Heart chatting after their own reunion.
Did anyone else find it weird when Gil Graham was asking Nanoha if she was Japanese. I was half expecting her to say “Well you’re talking to me in Japanese and I’m replying in Japanese…” Then again, Gil was speaking Japanese and he’s supposedly an Englishman.
