In the aftermath, Yasunobu is disappointed that Yamato didn’t get it on, and it’s clear that Yasunobu is so horny that he is trying to live vicariously through Yamato. Yasunobu even goes so far as to tell Miki that switching positions really helps the mood, and gets a beatdown for his sauciness. Meanwhile, Miki has to watch Suzuka pining for Yamato, but at the same time Suzuka keeps lying to herself and everyone else. To complete the circle of helplessness, Kobayakawa officially becomes the last person on earth to find out that Yamato and Honoka are going out.
While eating together, Honoka is restless, and it’s because she has a good friend who wants to meet Yamato. Ah ha, so the girl isn’t flying solo after all! In fact, Honoka rolls 20’s; her wingman is none other than hot new superstar, Shirakawa Nana. It seems that Yasunobu’s good sense fled his head and moved to Nana’s, and she spends a lot of the episode watching Yamato and Honoka. We even get some karaoke craziness where Honoka skips out for a second and Suzuka busts in and accuses Yamato of creeping with Nana. Nana, of course, assumes that Yamato is three-timing with Miki and Suzuka, but in the end everything works out. Nana makes a point of chiding Yamato on being all fakey nice, and challenges him to actually learn a little bit about his new girlfriend. Yamato finds this advice shocking and revolutionary!
Ugh, the animation continued to slide again, but aside from that, it was a good episode. I knew for sure that naive Honoka couldn’t be coming up with those strategies on her own; of course I still give her props for following through. What the heck has happened to Yasunobu, though? He is like a sexually-frustrated demon now… still that scene with him and Miki was priceless. Meanwhile, the newest wingman, Nana, is pretty cool, and her flashback was hilarious. Everyone treated her like a pimple and she accused Honoka of cosplaying?! Awesome!
It would be hot like fire to have the actual artist karaokeing with you and some friends! The track team has it so good!

It’s remarkable how Honoka had the guts to ask Nana to quit smoking considering how shy she is. The cosplay joke was great. Once again, Honoka earns extra points (^_^).

As a dedicated Honoka fanboy, I’d say that we see her achilles heel appearing: The deplorable lack of self-confidence. Feeling a jealous pang over a rival sitting down skinship-close to your boyfriend is one thing, but worrying over him liking a pop idol (who happens to be your best friend) or over Yamato singing a duet with Suzuka? That’s a bit much, unfortunately, and underlines how insecure she still feels after a month…
The flashback with Nana was hilarious though ^_^ … so she CAN hold her own just fine.
I can understand being jealous of Suzuka, because Honoka knows how much Yamato liked her. At first I was confused about why she was worried about Nana, but now I wonder if she was being all weird because she was afraid of what Nana would say about Yamato (and not because she was worried about Yamato digging Nana). After all, Honoka doesn’t seem to mind when Yamato does his yell of adoration for Nana at the cafe…
BTW, why does he need to yell when he approves of something? It’s like Van yelling after eating good food.
Wait until every character in the series learns about Yamato’s bed-incident with Honoka. How did the conversation between Honoka and Nana go?
Honoka: So Yamato tried to force himself on me today.
Nana: *Shock!*
Honoka: I wouldn’t have minded, but he was thinking about Suzuka at the time and making a weird face.
Nana: *Horror!!!*
[Nana flies over in a helicoptor to slap some sense back into Honoka]

This show is exasparating. First Yamato likes Suzuka and she doesnt like him. Then in came Honoka, and Suzuka finally realized that she liked Yamato. . .
I really am wondering how this will turn out.. in the end I’d wanna see both Suzuka and Honoka end up happy >_>
Its not possible for both of them to end up happy, unless somehow another character captures one of their hearts.
But, if one does end up unhappy, it’ll prolly be Honoka. Yamato liked Suzuka first, and this is an anime… so they’ll prolly end up together.
It seems we are getting some interesting bursts of story telling talents here. Look out world, the manga authors of the future are here (^_^;;)
I agree with Kabitzin on the jealousy of Nana bit. It doesn’t make sense to take Nana to meet Yamato if you’re afraid he might fall for her in the first place.
I wonder if Honoka is a bit pissed because Yamato claimed he wasn’t a fan when he really was. On a completely different note, do pop stars sing their own songs during karaoke? You’d think they would be totally sick of them at that point.
