To watch over Yuuji, Shana takes the last bit of Yukari’s existence, and “barges in on it” making everyone think that Shana is actually Yukari. Using her powers of engrish, Shana pwns every teacher in the school, and intimidates all the classmates. However, she’s annoyed that Yuuji isn’t all freaking out like the other weakling Torches that learn the truth. Meanwhile, Marianne prepares her attack with a brand new hougu. Unfortunately, the “Regular Sharp” is totally weakass (why didn’t she take “Extreme Sharp”???), and Shana instagibs Marianne. Fortunately for Marianne, her master Friagne the Hunter makes his entrance and taunts Shana for being unable to control flames without the aid of the sword. He then escapes, claiming that he doesn’t want to harm the mistess.
In the battle’s aftermath, all of Yuuji’s classmates are injured, and Shana wants to use the half-dead Ike to repair everything. However, unlike other Torches, Yuuji doesn’t desperately cling to his existence, and offers up some of his remaining existence to save his class. He feels like this will help him live on in their memories, and this seriously annoys Shana. However, when he shows up later to apologize for going off on her and then thank her for not using Ike, she notices his tiny flame go out and then reignite. Looks like his hougu is awfully convenient… for grilling!
Finally less explanation and more story movement! It’s not surprising that Shana is actually not that powerful, and I can’t wait to learn her backstory. I’m sure she has had a tough life/afterlife, which is why she is so jaded and annoyed by Yuuji. Watching Yuuji drag the frozen students was surprisingly funny, and I know I’m not the only one who thinks so. It looks like we will get new characters soon, as we see an old dude sucking down existence leftovers into his lint ball, and Marjorie Doe and her obnoxious talking book Marco (Marco also plays Book of Darkness on Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha A’s).
I love the part at the beginning when Shana and Alastor are talking about all the other Torches who learned the truth and Alastor brings up the one who committed suicide all nonchalant. I seriously expected them to both start laughing before letting out a pair of happy sighs. Now that we learned that the amulet is just a “cocytus” that lets Alastor’s personality reside in Shana, I want to know: What does Alastor really look like?!
