Ureshiko cries about not being able to kiss, and decides to tell Kagura everything. She shows him her mahou shoujo form, and he recalls seeing her on the broom the first day he came to the town. The happy moment is interrupted, however, by reports that there are tons of mahou shoujo smoking up a storm in a hazy purple cloud. The mahou potheads then trap Ureshiko in a groovy barrier, but Sayaka arrives to bust her out.
Somehow in the battle, golden alkaline metals fall to the earth and set everything on fire. While the town is burning down, Ureshiko and Sayaka have some meaningful conversations with the men in their lives. Ureshiko admits she loves Kagura, and Kagura interrupts her angsting to tell her that he understands and loves her back. Sayaka gets stuck talking to those creepy stuffed animals again, and she seals her magic to avoid complying with their order to create a new Wonderland within 24 hours or face expulsion. Eventually Sayaka is told about the fires, but feels it’s pointless to try to save the school that’s burning down. However Yuki (haha, he has a name?!), is adamant that they save their class treasure, the flag from the baseball tournament. Sayaka actually is inspired to go in and save the flag, and it seems she finally understands the hope that the people in town have. Ureshiko comes in time to call storm clouds, and Valentine tells Ureshiko to do what she wants, so that Ureshiko will have no regrets. With that advice in mind, Ureshiko finally goes to Tamotsu in full mahou shoujo gear.
Although not that exciting, we get to see Sayaka’s continued progression towards being the kind of manager that Ureshiko can be confident in. I like how Tamotsu has this look like “So that’s why this show is called Oku-sama wa Mahou Shoujo!” as if it was referring to someone else’s wife. The return of the creepy stuffed animals was also enjoyable. The council is mad powerless it seems, especially with all the scrub mahou shoujo it keeps sending out.
