After regaining the use of his arms using some spirit string, Ishida releases the stored power in his Spirit Scattering Gauntlet to power his way to the win again Mayuri. After receiving some treatment for the poison Mayuri released in the battle, Ishida heads toward the prison towers where Rukia is being held. Unfortunately, he runs into another Captain, and since Ishida was basically spent at this point in terms of spirit energy, he gets captured rather easily.
Meanwhile, Yoruichi begins the 3 day training to have Ichigo be able to take his soul slayer and release Bankai whenever he’s in battle. However, this basically requires Ichigo to be able to beat down Zangetsu into submission so he’d be under Ichigo’s control, but Zangetsu is no pushover as he seemingly toys with Ichigo during their sparring.
This marks the first time that someone other than Ichigo manages to take on a Captain successfully, but Ishida also does some heavy damage to himself for releasing the power in his gauntlet.
