I’m sorry to say that you severely disappointed me. It’s as if your writers forgot where they were going with the plot and decided to cop out with a predictable ending. So Gilbert just turned out to be a maniacal zealot with not one but two superweapons, and the good guys have to once again lay the smack down. Can’t you do better than that? To add insult to injury, it was Rey that finally saw the light at the end, while Shinn remained faithfully idiotic. Whoopee. The only saving grace was that Luna didn’t get killed, but at this point her character was fairly inconsequential anyways.
Your beginnings were quite promising and you really hit your stride in the middle, providing so much wonderful fodder for fanart and blogging ridicule. It’s a shame that you went out with a whimper, not to mention the incredible amount of stock footage used in the last episode. I almost thought I was watching the mid-series recap episode.
Alas, I must give you an overall rating of 3.5/5. Not horrible, but falling short of greatness.

a total disappointment, copied half or more stuff from SEED. I can’t imagine they are going to end Destiny this way. One thing surprised me though, Strike Freedom has Beam wings too? Then it is the most powerful MS in the whole thing. Combination of Destiny’s beam wings, Legends’ DRAGOON and some of the Freedom’s original design. I can’t believe Talia just asked Kira to ask Captain Ramius to see her son sometimes and just stay behind and die even though she doesn’t have to.
I also agree with the 3.5 rating, since this show totally fell off after the half. This was my first real experience with the Gundam universe and while I enjoyed the ride, I really just liked it for its characters. The action was pretty lame, especially later in the series, and the story was not that strong. The only two things that stayed consistently good in GSD were 1) the awesome music, although I didn’t like the last OP at all, and 2) the great and memorable characters that spawn massive fan-armies. I even ended up liking Shinn, although mostly because he is so easy to make fun of.

As another one of the thousands of GSD fans,I have to say I could not be more disappointed. But, it shouldn’t have been unexpected as you could see the story barely keeping itself up. Atleast there’ll be a 40-minutes OVA coming out in February but I don’t think I’ll bother with the third series, if there is one. There are rumors that the third one is called Gundam Seed Eternity but I was pretty sure the animators didn’t want to make another sequel….whatever.

I FREAKIN’ LOVED GSD… but the endind was sh*t. i think all da fans r pissed because they love it too but dissapointed by the end. its was predictible, the fights were horrible, and the plot just totally got messed up. i loved this series but the ending should have been way better, since it was such a great series.
Athuran sure had fun kicking his way to victory.But still if only the battle with Rey and Shinn was a little more challenging,it might have been a little more fun to watch.Athuran and Kira had more problem with the 3 extended from seed then with Rey and Shinn.
And wonder why Kira had to go into Gils fortress and confront him instead of destroying it with Gil in it.
I was guessing the ending was going to be rushed, didn’t think it would be that rushed…both Kira and Athrun had a (very) easy time against Dentiny/Legend and the ending leaves behind way too many questions left unanswered. There better be a movie (or OVA/Episode) for this…so, overall, I agree that this was a “big” disappointment.

I’d like to see Cagalli and Athrun been together actually (eg getting married). Is it just me but most gundam series always leave the main female and male characters alone, never see them get together in the end. e.g. SEED SEED DESTINY and Wing too!!!
GSD started to disappoint me pretty soon in the series. Partly because the ridiculous amount of clip-episodes in it. I watched the entire thing. And it really is ’so-so’ compared to Gundam Seed. Thing that mind-boggled me was, they actually filled up with the ‘OMG Meer got killed’-episodes to rush the end… They had the time to not rush the ending… but they crammed in a few fillers, they crammed in a couple of pointless episodes, so they still got their rushed ending.
I never liked Shin… he was WAY too stupid. That alone made a little part good in the ending… Athrun totally OWNING Shinn, and beating the Destiny to a crap. God, I loved that, was way too short. Only one thing… I had the feeling from almost episode 30 or something that Athrun WAS going to own Shinn on the end… And I was right…
I hope they’ll make a nice 5 minute extra ep like they did with Seed, and just get over with it. Personally, I DON’T NEED A NEW SEED! I’d rather have a totally new universe, or a new series in the Universal Century (the original Gundam was set in this world). And preferrably with mobile suits that don’t carry 423 weapons, but have a somewhat realistic armament. (I’ve also seen too many DRAGOON’s).
Note to other people: Shinn didn’t die, he ended up crying in Lunamaria’s arms… Geesh… pathetic guy… he could’ve at least apologised to Luna.

To all the Shinn haters, I’m sorry but I don’t really understand it, sure Shinn
has a difficult character (not too surprisingly taking into account all the
tragedies he went through, time and time again.) Laughing with Shinn’s crying
is also uncalled for since there is no other character in the series that has
cried as much as Kira did in SEED. “Hating” Shinn because he destroys/kill more? is also uncalled for because there is no other character that has as many deaths/blood on his hands as Kira has (wanted or unwanted … same result)
Kira has had a rough “history” but all in all, totally uncomparable with Shinn’s most ppl Shinn cared for have died even when Shinn tried to protect them, while Kira never had such tragedies …
I’m gonna stop trying to give more arguments because although I still have plenty of them I just know nobody will even want to read them since most of the ppl just hated Shinn because he had more screen time at the beginning of the series then Kira or Lacus had, and no matter how sound my arguments might be they will not be read or understood so I won’t bother.

Yeah I agree that the last few eps towards the end had the rushed feeling to it. Leaves a lot of questions hopefully to be answered in nthe OVA: who is Talia’s son, will Lacus/ Kira and Athrun/ Caguli have their wedding, what is Shinn going to do next, will Luna meet up with her sister…and more.
Right now Bandai’s 2006 schedule is full so its possible 2007 a new season could begin again.
To be honest, I would prefer a new world instead of stucking in the Cosmic Era. Bandai is running out of ideas of wot to do with the characters, so it might be better for them to abandon SEED and Destiny now and start again. I don’t mind if they continue with C.E if Destiny was good but IT IS NOT.

You are a friggen idiot. Rey changing sides was a plot device so that Jesus Yamato would not soil his pure and holy hands. It was by far the stupidest thing I’ve seen. The sheer amount of Zaft soldiers betraying their country is utterly absurd. Asuran (who should have been executed a while ago for betraying Zaft), Yzak, Dearka (both of which had very little reason to jump ship AGAIN, but did so anyway, beause they are supposed to be “good guys” now), and now Rey who jumped ship because the writers are completely retarded.
This show appeals to children who know nothing about anything. GSD makes Power Rangers look like Shakespere.

Well that’s not true. Kire lost one of his best friend when he fought Athuran.Athuran killed him.And the litte girl he meet got killed by izaku when kira tried to protect her.Not to mention Frey who was killed by Kruse.Kire failed to protect her to.

I don’t think the OVA will be worth watching, but I will watch just in case it is good. Archangel and Eternal are by far the strongest ships as well as the best commanded captains. Not to mention their superior mobile suit. I don’t see anyone can stop them EVER.

GSD i also enjoyed watching, especially getting 43 episodes non stop, that was really fun getting, sure the ending was dissapointing i have to admit, but then again as people say that this leaves lots of room for a third series, and based on what i have read in wikpedia encyclopedia site, they say that the ova”will give a final conclusion to this 50 episode series”, there is a great chance for a satisfying ending with the show, its like have 2 extra episodes to watch, but i am really hoping that the ova gives it the rightfull conclusion to the show, and i dont really want another series for this show, i think they should just go back to the UC unvierse and make some other series based on that universe, but overall i can say that Gsd was a enjoyable to watch.

Well right now i have noticed that the ratings for the show has gone up,i guess everyone is done giving the series its bad rates, now the people who liked the series are giveing it its good ratings.
Well I kinda liked the series and hope for a sequal, I mean the last episode coulda been better, cramming it all into a 30 min time block really didn’t fly too well, It was completely rushed…and what about Shinn..he’s still a jerk and didn’t learn his lesson…I hope he’s the villian in the next season if there is one.Overall I still liked the season. Still a great series in my mind..
What grinds my gears is that the Destiny Gundam didn’t turn out to be anything special after all. I thought that it was going to have some critical tie-in to the “Dessstiny Plan”, but in the end Gilbert was just using him to ward off the angry mob
Some of you would like to see a new series of Gundam outside the SEED universe. For a few years now (and after watching an official unsubbed videotape) I’ve been hoping that they would go back to Universal Century and finish the Gundam F91 series properly. This has been one of my favorite mobile suit designs for years, maybe my all around favorite. The movie was so in your face that a series should have come of it instead of just a manga stint.
I like that MS igLoo is returning to UC territory, albeit from the Zeon side of things. But still welcome. Maybe there will be more…

did anyone notice all those destiny plan system 48, in the dark chamber where it lights up then saying Destiny Plan activate sort of thing. Where did that go in the end? I reckon the OVA will be based on that. Destiny Plan was not stopped completely, and Destiny Gundam is going to hav its real function then.

The very first episode had already screwed my GSD gears up, 3 ppl hijack, go back to a mask man, one “new” movile comes along while the hijacked ones have no idea wut it is, im talkin about impulse btw. very very first episode, i kinda hated GSD for that, easily repetitive.
as it went along, there is a mother ship, minerva with a crew with a powerful ms and some minor ms, impulse, kinda like archangel, strike.
im sure u guys can think of a lot more, but those 2 really gave GSD a big dent in my gundam book.
ok lets see, Shinn… well ok, first he goes around and complaining about everything, blah blah blah, then he gets cocky and scolds at athrun for using his emotions, like during the part where impulse rapes freedom. Dude i was like, uhh hello? Shinn? wut wus it with stellar? with the sister? and his whole fuking life? dude he is al about emotions man, i mean, take a look at his seed, did u guys notice that it only breaks out when he is angry? if ind that kinda disturbing…
ANd man, i dont even know where to start about the ending. you could tell though, by the last few episodes, the war dint even start yet unitl 49, obviously theres no way everything can be explained and fought in 1 episode.
The one on one fighting scenes sucked, compared to seed, at least there were a lot of them, like yzak, dearka and nicole.
basically, i the story in the beginning is alrite, builds up because of all the emotions and ambition, but it just dies out. Seed is a lot better.
The only good shit about GSD is the ms and gundams, damn! they are just waaaaay to kewl, i mean srsly, chcek out strike freedom, the new justice, akatsuki, legend. i wont say destiny cuz i personally think its just a butterfly with a sword. i mean wut the hell he only has like uwt, 4 moves? but damn, i wish for more 1 v 1 fighitng, more intense too. I agree, Akatsuki is way to powerful, but shit man, Mwu La Flagga!!!!! i was so happy to find him alive, cz i realli hated it when he died at the end of seed. and all that like, recreating the same scene without Mwu dying this time was realy touching XD

i thinked luna as a more of a mother figure to shinn for some reason, then shinns ugly gf, and by the way i find it quite ugly that luna is one year older than shinn. Cagalli is older than athrun i know that, but that is in months which is something i can tolerate,same goes for kira and lacus, but i dont like people haveing relation ships when they are already 1 year older than the male character, or even 2 years obviously, but it also annoyed me with luna and shinn that luna just acts like a mother to shinn.
Does anyone know if they are going to create a third Gundam SEED series? I really hope they don’t, they should just end everything with some explanation in the OVA. I didn’t know Cagalli is older than Athrun, and Lacus is older than Kira. It was a shock when I found out. Let’s hope they put the character together in the OVA, not putting them all over the place (Relena and Heero in WING).

So why did the oh-so-perfect coordinator Yamato had to be the ending-saviour… maybe fukuda has a crush on kira… They better make the third series the best or else i’ll really give fukuda a piece of my mind.

1) New characters billed as leads/stars only to have their screentime completely taken over by Kira

I really believe that GSD ———sucks——— bigtime. It just disappointed me so much. I’m giving it 1.5/5. Most of the episodes were Recaps….. Hello???? Anybody out there from the GSD writer??? This is one lame Gundam to watch, why bother showing all the recaps when we know that already happened. And if they’re planning for a third series… i think it will be the recaps of GS and GSD. Now come to think of it. Two of three cagalli’s rivals are knocked out of the competition. I would think Cagalli is more likely to win. Meer died, Lunamaria in love with Shinn. Right, Cagalli is wealthier, more powerful (piloting, her country, dertermination). Also their time together had been longer. If u think about it Athrun’s got such a “rich” tast, that he got himself rich girlfriends without knowing who they are (daughter of PLANT Chairman Lacus, Princess of Orb Cagalli) Why would he find Meyrin Hawk worth looking at.
Yea, I was rather disappointed with the series in general….they are saying a sequel will follow destiny, to make the seed series a trilogy. Whether a 3rd installment can help save face, I do not know. Though I do want to know the same of the song at the beginning of ep 50 as it opens with archangel and eternity heading towards messiah….anyone know?
Sorry, I don’t know the name of the song. I doubt the 3rd installment will be better than the second. In the first one, archangel and eternal new to the world and they saved the world. Second one, they became heroes, and near enough to invincible. The third one, probably every1 is going to pray them as some kind of god by the end of it.

At LEAST fix what they tore apart and get back together… that is pretty much the extent of what I want. I don’t think all those rumours about a third serie of Seed is true. I agree with Orchidzala that I don’t want a Natural chairwoman of ZAFT, such as the spirit of Fllay. My favourite character is Cagalli, I hoped that she will get Kira at the beginning of Seed but is no longer possible now then it will be great to see something from Athrun and her. A wedding will be nice, but kids running around them will be even better. I can’t imagine Cagalli been a mother. LOL. I was hoping they would make a film like the Endless Waltz for Gundam Wing instead of an OVA

They should’ve just made another extra episode (ep. 51) kinda like the episode count for Full Metal Alchemist. Kira had more tragic experiences than Shinn obviously (refer to SEED episodes). Err.. there are gundam kits of GSD MSV sold in stores and hobby shops here in the Philippines even before the GSD Series ended so I doubt that would be the title for the next season, btw what is GSD MSV anyway? ^_~? The ending was a disappointment. Too may loose ends, and a completely rushed feel to boot. It was both a disappointment…and a relief that the series finally ended I guess. The way Kira turned Rey around was utterly ridiculous that I don’t know whether to laugh or cry, and I’ve got nothing to say about Athrun defeating Shinn and Lunamaria so easily. It’s as though Clyne Faction is invincible, which makes the whole thing leave a bad aftertaste in my thoughts….Good action, but sadly, terrible character development and plot.

I don’t really think so. It’s 1.) Either just another stupid plot device or 2.) It makes her mind clear, that’s all there is to it. Whether or not she can order people around should be within her already, since SEED mode doesn’t give anyone special or extra abilities.

I’m guessing Shinn will go Berserk and Become the baddy in Seed Eternity. I hope Cagali Dies… Simply because she’s been a total “bitch” to Asuran throughout the series. Shinn was pathetic. The Revival of Muu Fraga was a sad sad way of butchering his character. Rey was a Clone of Kruze? Seriously… And you know, My dog could write a better plot than this..

As most of you I have been deeply disappointed with GSD’s ending, as Shinn is still displayed as a weak character mentally, yet the encounter with Stellar towards the end left me thinking. I wanted to clarify Shinn’s collapse as he sees the Messiah fall to its firery death. I saw that scene like 4 times till I realized why he began to feel sorrow. Seems that he saw everything he believed in burst into flames, and towards the end he sees that his feel for vengence brought him nothing. Luna see this and holds him, regardless (great chick dude)of his actions (such as he atking her!!! O.o). I thought Rey “seeing” the light was completely stupid, as he was one who followed the Chairman the most!! Shinn was having doubts in the end, but we all gotta remember, this guy is 16… cmon, most of teenagers would pick up our mobile suits (if they existed) and take revenge (or try) against those who you believe killed your family and possibly destroying others as well. With age comes wisdom, as also through experience which I believe was the way Shinn learned that vengence is not the answer. Even still, GSD ending was rathher crappy, cut & paste fight scenes, obvious victors, and not enough people dead. Wouldn’t of been a damn twist if the Minerva shot down the Archangel or the Eternal, or if the Minerva and the Archangel blew themselves up? Cmon, this could of been damn good…
Regardless of what anyone says, Shinn Asuka is my favorite character, agressive, vengence seeker… basically the average teenager
P.S. Destiny shoulda had another anti ship sword than a long range beam rifle.. seriously… you know that shit sucks!! But even so… Destiny looks badass.

I don’t think Destiny should have another anti ship sword, I think it should have one or two normal beam swords, so its enemies can’t cut it in half like the anti ship swords. Shinn had his Anti Ship broken twice as far as I know by Athrun.

OMG! I just finished watching the whole GSD series, are they making a new series? cuz honestly once again the ending is really unclear, only battles (not that im complaining, but they dont even show the result) there is still lots of mysteries left, like why rey killed the chairman gil dullindal instead of kira, wen he said “but his future is…!”, and also about why that captain gladys said to kira to tell captain ramius “we have a son, please meet with him one day…” what does this all mean?! okay asides from that im okay with the plot and the new characters, even athrun’s harem, it is possible, seeing as cagalli (not that i hate/like her, i just watch and observe in general) it does make sense y they broke up in the end (i think they did, seeing as cagalli stoped wearing the ring, and told meyrin to take care of athrun) but to be honest i do like meyrin and athrun to be together, seeing as meer died(thank god, shes nothing but a fake, and only like athrun cuz of him being a hero) same goes for lunamaria, who is like flay, switched from flirting to athrun then to shin (i honestly think she doesnt love athrun, only liked him cuz he was a hero among them, seeing as wen she heard athrun chose meyrin, she got so pissed in the battle and decides the fight athrun, the way she said is like y did u take her, despite the fact she knows meyrin was the one who helped and stayed with athrun, i honestly think shes just jealous) and oh back to cagalli, i think that in reality or in similar to, u would understand y they would break up, seeing as cagalli is the daughter of the previous leader of orb, and she has a very great deal of responsibility for her nation, she would chose her responsibility than her love for athrun(cagali fans dont hate me, this is just a fact), that was y she was so pised wen kira kidnaped her, and says taht she had decided. Even so, in the early episodes athrun doesnt seem happy with cagalli, cuz of the fact that his new identity “Alex Denon” as her bodyguard only makes him like lackey, and of course any guy with a famous record and highly respected position downgraded to someone that “Yuna/Jona” just orders him around, athrun never liked this, thats one of the reasons he went back to zaft, seeing as his helpless in orb, no one knows him and his reputation. Sory im going way off topic, but just to sum up, its just cagalli and meyrin left thats for a fact, although it seems meyrin has a higher favor in the end, seeing as cagalli knows how much meyrin cares for athrun, and she cried probably of the fact that this is true, not cuz she cant just come with them in space, but even if she was there, she could never really care for him, because of her responsibilities, that is y she accepted meyrin, besides from the other girls (meer and lunamaria, meyrin is the more likely heroine and partner of the hero, cuz she doesnt have crazy issues like meer who is a identity theft, and lunamaria the “flay” identity)
K now back to my only and one only thing that i despise, hate, vex, angry, mad, and all bad adjectives and words to describe this useless aspect and factor that greatly affects the series. Its the stupid main character SHIN! OMG! Why the hell did they make this guy the freakin main character!!! In the beginning he was useless and annoying up to the end. (Im sory for those shin fans out there, hate me if u want, but im sure more pplz hate this guy) I mean honestly wtf is his purpose in the freakin series! I thought he was like the “hero who is actually the enemy, like Rey, and like accidentally contains the seed, as like one of the rejects in making the ultimate coordinator: Kira Yamato” but that i understand, however they show him in opening and ending songs like he was the freaking hero!!! I Mean Come On! Hes useless, he does nothing but goes berserk, and kills everyone, and most of all he is so freaking annoying and arrogant! I especially loved those 2 or 3 episodes were athrun insults, slaps, and then punches him !!!! He got wat he deserved! Esp wen athrun wipes him out like he was nothing using the infinite justice, beating the crap out of destiny, another gay gundam “butterfly wings” honestly i was overjoyed wen justice beat the crap out of it. Although i was disappointed of teh fact taht he survived >:(, i was hoping athrun or kira kills him, cuz he deserves to die, not live, he couldnt understand anything. I mean i know some ppl relates him to kira, seeing as kira was like shinn wen he was protecting the archangel, kira beeing berserk and killing everyone, whoever the really big and main difference was kira doesnt want to fight, he is obliged to fight for his frnds, and he never wants to kill anyone despite of all his power and abilities. However on the other hand, Shinn only fights for himself, his own freaking pathetic revenge, where all he blamed his Cagali and her father, and ORB, man hes freaking annoying! And wat pisses me off is that he contains the dam seed! i was like What the hell?! only kira, athrun, and cagalli has them. Kira seeing as he is the ultimate coordinator, athrun who was base similar to kira’s way since his father Patrick Zala wanted his son to be a great soldier as well, so athrun and kira are the only ones who contains the seeds, cagalli only unleased her seed once in the last ep of seed, seeing as in theory she contains some of the seed cuz she does have recessive genes of the parents, and might contain the genetical trait of the seed. So how does a gay and annoying guy like shinn has it?!!!! I cant even say how much more reasons how shinn sucks and how he ruins and brings down the series, however i can honestly say he would make an awesome villain, but not a frikin main character from the start, it ruins the show, making ppl believe that he is the hero, despite the fact taht he isnt, even till the end. So if they are making a new Gundam Seed series, they better not put that gay guy Shinn in there, not unless he DIES! now that would be amazing, probably makes more ppl happier to watch the show, cuz we all have to admit that he pisses us off, esp wen he disses athrun.
Well, I finally got to see the final phase. And well, you may think I´m crazy but I think it´s not so bad, compared to the rest of the nonsense they made from 1 to 49 (argh!). And now it´s time for the so-much-expected contest! Here go the nominees…
‘BEST? CHARACTER’
#1: Shinn I-forgot-to-take-my-medication Asuka. When we thought that Fllay Allster was the biggest pain in the ass, the came up with this guy. Is he supposed to be the main character?? oh… WTF…
#2: Extended-but-retarded Stellar. For being able to destroy a city while uttering no more than 3 words. And BTW… it´s kinda tragic when she dies, but the other 2 extended are happily killed. There must be a difference, but I can´t see it though…
#3: Neo la-Fllaga-la-Mwu-la-Klueze. For returning from his grave, just to wear the black version of Raww´s mask. BTW… why is he wearing a mask, anyway? It seems to be the trendiest thing now… I think I´m gonna get one for Christmas Eve.
‘BEST? GUNDAM’
#1: Fake-Lacus´ pinky thing. Which I do not dare to call “Gundam”.
#2: Cagalli´s golden stuff. Her father speaks from the word of the Dead, just to give her that kinda kitsch thing. It could be worse… well, yes. It could also be covered with diamonds or something like that.
#3: Shinn´s magical butterfly. Or any other Gundam with 26-meters cannon. This is the clearest example of how good it is to keep things simple.
‘MOST OBVIOUS PLAGIARISM’
#1: The beginning. Switch the words “ZAFT” and “Earth Forces” and… surprise! The beginning of Gundam Seed turns into the beginning of GS Destiny. Even the bad guy with the mask. And the female captain. And the stolen Gundams. OMG…
#2: The end. Is it GS Destiny or Star Wars? When Kira enters the Chairman´s room, I thought he was going to say: “Kira… I´m your father!” Even the throne is identical to the Emperor´s… For God´s Sake!
#3: The rest of the phases. Obviously copied from Gundam Seed.
‘MOST REPEATED SCENE’
#1: Shinn´s family death. I´ve seen that blown-away hand like 200000000 times.
#2: Stellar´s death. It seems that Shinn is happy to remember tragedies.

Mwu-La-Kruz: Shinn and Stellar are insanely fun to joke about, but did anyone actually like either of them? Every season, there is one overachiever character that is slated to die/come back/don a mask for like 15 “different” characters, and that kind of… er, versatility needs to be recognized.

Cagalli’s Pimped Out Gundam: They had to actually reuse GS scenes because so much of the budget money went towards this gaudy monstrosity. I’m sad the Gaia wasn’t on the list, cause that is my personal favorite. You kicked my dog!
== Most Obvious Plagarism ==
The End: because by this point everyone was already pissed off about all the flashback episodes and re-used scenes that the plagarism stuck out that much more. Once Lunamaria started ogling Shinn, the show really just started going downhill.
== Most Repeated Scene ==
Building Impulse out of Legos: Shinn’s family death comes at boring intervals, so is easily skipped. Stellar’s death has awesome background music. However, I never want to miss part of a rehashed fight scene, so I always have to watch that piece of garbage Gundam get slowly assembled. And then they handed it down to Lunamaria and it lived on as a refurbished mech!!!
Can’t wait for the OVA. I hold out hope that Lacus was secretly the evil mastermind behind all of this. When is another light-hearted shopping episode (this time with less shooting, please) coming?
You are right. The Gaia should also be included, but I missed it among all the crap. Gaia was fantastic, walking on water like Jesus, with its burning moustaches (Gaia, not Jesus). Although we have to admit that the Desert Tiger´s Vacoo (whatever you write it) from Gundam Seed was not much better (even Gundam Seed has also a few things we can make fun of… but just a few!)
Best char -> Stella, too bad she died, i wanted to see more of CS-god-knife-skills
Best Gundam -> c’mon, kudos should go to the grunt models that serve the purpose of making Kira look uber
Plagarism -> ending, Star Wars is nice tho..
Repeated scene -> Lego scene, gosh I hate the damned legos, especially when they’ve got to launch off all the legos one by one, then connect them using some infra-red technology WTF??
as for comments on the show overall,
1) soundtrack/music: Reason pwned imo, i didn’t want Stella to die so soon, but the background music was worth (her) dying for!; generally, in-show background music too, but i don’t know when it the mismatched and unconnected starting songs began, those were horrible
2) plot: OK until some point in time, it started to suck for me when I was half-hoping they would determinedly finish off Shinn’s protagonist role, but apparently they left it half-hanging with Kira Gundamless for a few episodes, and took this period of time, meanwhile to ruin it for me totally: Luna/Shinn, unpowered EA, grunt Destroy models, orgasmic-dying-horse-crying, Athrun still being pwned and a crybaby, too many grunts, Lacus-space-camping — i thought i remembered her promising to be back soon or something?, too much spamming of the portable deflector shields (c’mon it’s gay, it was still original when the MA was first introduced, but it got underpowered and too overused when everyone started using em)
3) graphics: c’mon the Strike Freedom should be more rigged and pimped than that, at least give it uber-fast-firing-Tannhauser-Meteor-Dragoons and a more decent paintjob; I liked the showy wings on Destiny, the repetion of scenes is still OK given the budget, but it’s unforgiveable on the recall episodes where they leech into the original SEED scenes excessively, there should be less recall episodes
4) fighting: this sucked c’mon!!! (1) Kira vs Shinn: how the heck did the Impulse or Kira’s cockpit survive a freaking nuclear explosion? that’s the stuff it takes to blow up 1 plant and the pwnage-superweapon in the original SEED series what the heck?!? it’s unfair, at least make it a draw between Kira and Shinn, and Kira was using grunt-tactics against Shinn, bad way to make room for the Strike Freedom by having the Freedom get grunt-pwned by Shinn. i would rather Kira tell Lacus to pimp-his-ride in the most abrupt style than have Kira lose to Shinn in grunt-style. even at the very least, Kira could’ve pulled off a traditional Athrun-suicide on Shinn with his skills (if he could’ve thought of letting the nuclear reactor blow up in the face of an opponent, he probably didn’t think of sparing his life, so there’s no excuse not to Athrun-suicide on Shinn) it’s also totally impossible that Kira can just allow the Freedom to free fall onto the mountain while the Impulse undergoes the lego process freely. i don’t think Shinn disabled his railguns and beam cannons so i guess he just grunts “this guy…” “kmpfhmm” like a grunt and get pwned as though he’s off-form like a noob? the fight is totally rigged.
5) characters: Cagalli and Athrun sucked for around 40 episodes and didn’t really get any better, Shinn’s character development was great IMO (but that doesn’t mean i like him), Rey could have had more development, but i still liked how he scored Dark Side points using classic means, other chars were generally OK, but as the bottom-line, the most important thing is…

Actually there is a very simple explanation for why Kira did not die in the first battle against Shinn. It also explains how Kira lost. This explanation is:

Oh wait, I forgot the two sentences at the end that say what politically happened (but they explain nothing) and a conversation with no meaning between Athrun, Kira, and Shin with Luna and Meyrin present. Whoop de freaking doo. What in the heck happened?? Did the creators forget what an EPILOGUE is supposed to be??? An EXPLANATION!! Final Plus explained nothing and is a waste of everybody’s time.
As far as GSD goes, it was really good at the beginning. It was okay in the middle, but by the time you reached episode 50, you felt majorly jipped. Why were there like 10 recaps?
