Suzuka 09

Yamato’s still getting the cold shoulder, but hopes to change Suzuka’s perception of him with a good time in the 100 meter dash. While admiring Yamato’s sporty bod, Miki mentions that the city tournaments are coming up and that men’s short distance is really competitive. The rest of the team’s pretty fast, mostly running in the 11-second range, but Yamato is able to finish in an amazing 10.98 seconds, because he is so afraid of looking foolish in front of Suzuka. Suzuka watches the whole thing, even transposing Yamato’s image with Photo Guy’s, and gets pretty bummed out by the whole thing.

Yamato qualifies for the tournament, and the captain praises Miyamoto for pimping out Suzuka in order to get the team a super fast sprinter and a submissive manager. Yamato finds that Suzuka is no longer impressed with his running prowess, and gets really mad when he hears Suzuka talking to Miyamoto about visiting some guy named Tsuda Kazuki (who Yamato is supposedly very similar to). Suzuka says she just has to go home to see him, and Yamato stews around in a jealous rage until figuring out that Kazuki == Photo Guy. He then has Miho grab him Suzuka’s home address and sprints to the station to go stalk her some more.

A second good episode with decent animation! It looks like at last we may unravel the mystery of Photo Guy and Suzuka’s uber-moodiness. I mean, check out how she treated that frog; one moment she is cuddling it and the next she is slamming its face into the wall. That was a good scene, however, because it showed Suzuka in denial and so distraught that she only remembered to remove one sock. Meanwhile, Yamato is now fully into stalker territory, as he rushes off to ruin Suzuka’s day off… what a creep! I think it’s hilarious how Miyamoto called Yamato a “mood maker”.

The long hair vs. unbuttoned shirt squabble was fun, and Miki’s a great character. Was she really lusting after Yamato’s hot body?

Yeah, Yamato is not exactly the person who thinks how’s his actions are perceived by others. He finds out that she going to Yokohoma to see Kazuki and what he does, he decides to chase after her. Granted, I will be interested to see what reason Yamato comes up with for chasing after her but chasing after her is not a very good idea and one that gets restraining orders on you.

I’m just so glad that this photo guy is:

    1. Still alive
    2. Not the same person as Yamato

seriously this guy is a freakin’ psycho stalker, dont put a restraining order on him, lock his @$$ up!

and oh yeah, i get the feeling this Kazuki guy is definitely going to be along the lines of crippled or something. (it should explain why she’s so desperate to see him again)

Don’t you think you’re overdoing it a little bit with the stalker hate? I mean, I don’t know about you, but I can remember that I also happened to “fine-time” going somewhere to “coincidentally” bump into someone special ;) … that alone LOOKS bad, but isn’t THAT unusual. Joining the same club as your love interest? Honoka did exactly the same, she only didn’t blurt it out. Now running after her to see her meet Kazuki is the only time when he REALLY does something clearly out of the ordinary. You’ll see how much good it does him ^_^

Yay for Miki again! She’s just the perfect equivalent to Hattori – both in function (confidant for Suzuka like he is confidant for Yamato) and in personality (smart, independent, confident). She’s got it alot harder though because Yamato is honest towards Hattori. The same cannot be said for Suzuka and Miki.

And finally the body – you watched her reaction when Yamato called her “practically nude”, right? Her visual counterpart (Satsuki from Ichigo 100%) was soooo different.

Haha, ok I can see your point about not quite being a super stalker, but I still think he’s too obsessed. It’s not any one thing, it’s just that Yamato practically plans his day around skulking around corners waiting to ambush the unwelcoming Suzuka, and keeps doing it even after she keeps telling him off. I definitely prefer it to just doing nothing but moping, but maybe he could ease up just a tad…

As for Kazuki, at first I was happy to learn that Kazuki != Yamato, but then I thought of the GSD-spoofability and I lamented the lost opportunity. Can’t you just see Yamato getting a scar, recovering his memory, telling Suzuka that he makes the impossible possible, and then asking if they can shower together??? Would it help if Yamato got a dorky mask??? I can’t be the only one who thinks of this stuff!!!!

On a more normal note, yes Miki is pretty cool, and she’s a really good friend to Suzuka just how Yatsunobu is a good friend to Yamato.

I’m pretty sure Yamato is going to kill Kazuki before Suzuka arrives in Yokohama to take over his identity. That’s when the real story starts. I even suspect Johan is behind all this and Tenma is going to rescue Suzuka.

I keep getting the impression that Suzuka may be some kind of robot or something. So cold. And she’s really bordering on superbitch territory with that encounter at the shoe lockers after Yamato’s record run. Forget her despising him, now I get irritated just looking at her and am beginning to despise her too.

I mean there had better be a good reason for all of it (hopefully something to do with photo-guy Kazuki) and a way to salvage her character because it beginning to look pretty bleak. I have no love for her at all now.

Miki on the other hand is awesome! Gotta love her sportswear of course. She’s got a spirited personality – I like.

Stalker mode is one of the optional power that a male lead can have, in a love anime, ofcourse.

So Yamato isn’t really guilty of anything.
    It’s in Genre afterall!

    Suzuka on the other hand…

Stalker…mode…power? Is this like going SEED, except with a creepy obsessive element added?
