Shocked by the gruesome stabbing of Aizen, Hinamori screams out to Aizen’s body to no avail as he is most definitely dead. The other death gods who heard Hinamori’s scream are equally as shocked, but their first reaction is that to take down the body as soon as possible. Ichimaru also meanders onto the roof, which sends chills and anger down Hinamori’s spine as she recalls Hitsugaya’s warning about Ichimaru. Convinced that Ichimaru was responsible for Aizen’s death, Hinamori draws out her soul slayer and lashes out at Ichimaru, but Kira, the lieutenant of Ichimaru, blocks Hinamori’s attempt. The two childhood friends call out to their soul slayers, and the situation looks to be getting out of control before Hitsugaya steps in and blocks both Kira’s and Hinamori’s soul slayer from slashing each other. Kira and Hinamori are both sent to jail for holding purposes, and Hitsugaya shoots Ichimaru a warning not to pull any funny stuff later.
Meanwhile in the sewers, Ichigo and Ganju discover that Hanatarou’s healing abilities have proves to be worthy of praise as they both are up and moving without any problems. After Hanatarou powers himself up with an amazing energy pill, the three of them are off once again to the ivory towers to save Rukia. Unfortunately for them, a greater force awaits them, and the three of them all of a sudden feel a lot heavier as they’re dragged down by the spirit force of a greater opponent. Looks like Ichigo and the gang might have bitten off more than they can chew. Will Chad make it to the Shrine of Penitence in time to help Ichigo out?

The most amazing thing about hanatarou’s sudden energy after taking the pill, that allowed him to keep pace with the ones he himself had healed, was that the energy was his own, from his own will and determination. It had nothing to do with the pill itself. The pill was pranked, a fake pill made of flour. Hence the skull painted on it, to warn others of the 4th division, that it was a prank, and to not take it themselves.
Both Ichigo and Ganjyu voice their suspicions, and the manga makes it clear that the pill was indeed a fake.
Hanatarou is my favorite char. Though often overlooked, he is far from the useless coward that he himself describes himself to be…
