Mahou Sensei Negima 15

Ayaka wakes up from a bad flashback of when she was first introduced to Asuna. Asuna was really shy when she transferred, but before long, the two of them were squabbling. Later that morning, Ayaka’s informed of the good news that Negi is visiting her over the summer break. She’s super psyched, but then she finds that Negi arrived with the whole class, including Asuna. Everyone starts running around and messing up the mansion, while Ayaka chases them, but when she comes to a child’s room, she pauses and gets depressed.

Eventually everyone goes for some pool play, and Ayaka tries to get Negi to rub oil on her back. We learn that when Asuna transferred, she refused to speak until she started getting into fights with Ayaka. At the pool, Nodoka also mentions to Yue that she was upset when Negi went on that sorta-date with Konoka. Afterwards, Ayaka has Negi join her for a private chat over cookies and tea, and when Negi talks about his big sister, it’s clear that Ayaka is very pleased. Ayaka then suddenly asks if Negi will be her little brother for the day, and he gets a faceful of mammaries.

Unfortunately, because the twins are screwing around, Satomi’s remote control gets busted and Chachamaru goes berserk. This leads to mass destruction and the class goes home. However, before leaving, Asuna asks Negi to stay behind. When Ayaka asks Negi why he came today, he tells her that Asuna asked him to be Ayaka’s little brother for the day. We get the final flashback showing Ayaka bragging to Asuna about how she’s going to have a little brother in a month. Ayaka is so pumped to be a big sister, but sadly the baby dies before Ayaka even gets a chance to meet him. This throws her into a spiral of depression, until Asuna (who saw it all at the hospital) starts to taunt Ayaka and get her so mad that she snaps out of her funk. It turns out that the day of the party was Ayaka’s little brother’s birthday, and when Negi comes home, he tells Asuna that Ayaka says “sorry”.

This was a really good episode, and of course Ayaka’s backstory is very sad. It was extremely well done, and there was enough fun and fanservice to balance the episode out. I especially liked Ku Fei running around with the tiger pelt =D.
