Although Ichigo was able to absorb one of Renji’s bigger hits, the hit clearly has Ichigo shaken as he struggled to clear his vision once he gets back on his feet. Meanwhile, Renji tries to take advantage and use his speed to get some more slashes in, but Ichigo manages to keep up and counter. Ichigo also quickly realizes that Renji only strikes with his soul slayer in extended form 3 times before he has to retract it, so Ichigo attempts to go for the final blow after daring Renji to hit him 3 consecutive times. Unfortunately, Renji is able to dodge Ichigo’s blow and saw at his shoulder once again.
Things look pretty bleak but Ichigo recalls back to his training with Urahara and how Urahara pushed him not to be tentative but to go all out and not hold back with his abilities. Thus, Ichigo gathers up his “resolve” and ends the fight with one giant slash, sending Renji flying backwards with some critical injuries.
Sorry for the lackadaisical report
My take home final has been picking at my brain, and I’m trying to recall what I saw of this episode a couple of days ago. It was sort of interesting to see how serious Urahara fought against Ichigo during their training and that Urahara isn’t just some laid-back has-been death god.

It’s Urahara, not Urahaha. XD
Doh…thanks for catching that!
