Most of the non-fighting parts in this episode deal with Sirius’ continued chase of Reika, and the man has definitely got game. After smartly apologizing about the trap-detection tool comment, he lays down a number of memorable lines that leave Reika’s resistance weakened. Meanwhile, Fudo sets up training for using the power of imagination over long distances to turn your partner. I imagine this could be used in battle to Turn a Gundam. Pierre teams up with Apollo, Reika with Sirius, Chloe with Kurt, and Silvia with Tsugumi. Sirius and Silvia both show promise, but Silvia’s aim is bad, and Sirius’ range is just slightly too short. Apollo has tremendous aura, but his blasts all just go off in random directions. In the end, everybody fails the exercise, and Fudo tells them that time and distance are merely an illusion created by hesitation of the human heart.
Over on the Shadow Angel side, Toma has a new idea for a gymnastics routine. He’s been watching Sailor Moon recently and wants to imbue the Angel of the Week with the power of the Moon, allowing it to appear to be neither closing nor distancing. Otoha is charmed by the plan, and Toma feeds her one of Orihime’s little fairies.
Later that night, Silvia has a flashback dream about being unable to reach a falling, crying Apollonius, and she awakens to see Reika and Sirius having a secret meeting at night for more “training”. Of course, this means more macking, and Sirius lays it down heavy, even giving Reika a “queen of the night” flower (it’s just like her as it blooms when no one is watching). He tells her that Silvia is just a child and is so preoccupied on making her presence known that she cannot feel the emotions of others. Sirius’ ultra-smooth talk allows him to finally pierce Reika’s heart with his imagination. After a little telekinetic hijinks, the harvesters appear and it’s time for battle. The Cherubim Soldier this time is extremely agile, and even sports a little crescent moon hat, that looks rather like Kurotsuchi’s (the creepy doctor from Bleach) moon hat.
The battle begins with Aquarion Mars, but even Sirius’ new extending saber is unable to reach the nimble Cherubim Soldier. The next phase shifts Silvia to the head, but she only deems the second gattai “sorta good”. Once her lunatic archery fails, as the enemy dodges at the last second, it’s time for the truly orgasmic gattai into Solar Aquarion. Apollo finally realizes that he can’t go it alone, and so politely asks for the help of Sirius and Silvia. Apollo then unveils his Mugen Punch (infinity punch) that defies the laws of physics, but while the punch extends and homes in on the Cherubim Soldier, the damage is minimal. In fact, the Shadow Angel even laughs at them for a second or two. Apparently the strike only managed to reach the Angel’s thoughts, and they still need another push. This means its time for the Hissastsu Getsumen Punch (certain kill moon surface punch), which is so powered up that it is able to smash the Cherubim Soldier into the moon. Everyone’s happy, but the Harvesters are nowhere to be found, so I assume they actually failed their mission again.
It was good to see that bald eagles are still around in the future, even as (or perhaps because) the human population dwindles. Sirius made an interesting note about the Angel’s harvesting to achieve “prana”, the breath of life. Speaking of Sirius, he was both wise and slick this episode, leading to an extremely high Reika-blushing count. Even the Deava staff was amazed at the surprising “piercing the heart” innuendo. Overall, this episode a great improvement over the last two episodes, and I found myself laughing out loud several times. Now that Apollo has started to name his ridiculous moves, the fun should kick into high gear.
Did anyone notice how much space property almost got destroyed by the final punch? It would have been a real shame if Apollo knocked out DirecTV right before the NBA conference finals!

Didn’t Sirius get rejected by Reika at the very end? That was harsh!
