Although this episode is sort of a sidetrack from the main plot, it gives a few more details into Lust’s characters. Lujon, a local alchemist in the city of Basilisk, is searching for a cure to the deadly Fossil disease that seems to have spread throughout his home. However, his attempts at curing those with the disease with alchemy have not been successful to say the least, and it usually results in some spontaneous combustion of the body that he is attempting to cure. Lust drops by and sees Lujon struggling in finding a cure, and she offers to help his alchemy studies. In addition, she gives him a Philosopher’s stone ring to amplify his powers. After his studies under Lust’s direction, Lujon begins to revive those in Basilisk with great success, and even cures his girlfriend Lydia in the process.
However, Lujon finds himself falling for Lust during the process of studying Alchemy under her, causing much jealously from Lydia, who was to be Lujon’s bride. Lust eventually leaves Basilisk, leaving Lujon to search for her when the fossil disease begins to permeate again throughout the city.
What you find out about this episode is that Lujon was just a tool in the Homunculi’s plan to find someone who was willing to figure out the secrets of the Philosopher’s stone, and the fossil disease was just a setup by Envy to provoke Lujon on to further his alchemy studies. However, Lust seemed to have feelings growing for Lujon, as he reminded her of a man in her memories. Thus, seeing how these feelings would jeopardize the ultimate goal of making a Philosopher’s stone, she promptly kills Lujon, leaving the city of Basilisk to fall to the fossil disease.
