Kabitzin’s July 2004 List

Wow, this has been a good month, especially with all the somewhat older series that I’ve been marathoning. Although I haven’t finished posting on it, I’ve finished up watching Stellvia, so it won’t be on the top 5 this month. Without further ado:

1) Kaleido Star: This series is worse than crack. Even if you missed the first season, you owe it to yourself to watch the second season, which just started.
2) Full Metal Alchemist: Ender tells me that FMA owes its remarkable consistency to Square’s generous funding. Still, I just have to commend them again for rocking this hard for this long.
3) Fruits Basket: Errrr, is there a second season of this? The ending didn’t seem to answer very many of my questions. Must… read… manga…
4) Samurai 7: I really want the naysayers to be wrong about this series, because I’ve loved it thus far.
5) Madlax: Now I know that evening gowns can make you invincible, and knowing is half the battle.

Rising – Maria-sama ga Miteru: I find it vaguely boring, and absurdly dramatic, but yet I keep watching… There’s even a Gokigenyou song???
Falling – Samurai Champloo: After such a great start, this show has been floundering. I want to stick with it through to the very end, because Chrno Crusade has taught me patience.

About Kabitzin:
One of the founders of Sea Slugs, I handle most of the blog admin tasks while wearing my I AM BOSS shirt. I like my action series well-choreographed, and my romance series extra trashy. I also have a soft spot for puns.

[...] n of an episode. Back when Samurai Champloo was wallowing in its rut of complete suckage, I predicted that it would pull itself up much the same way Chrno Crusade did. [...]
