Woo, two episode story about a giant crow-robot-mutant-man. Anyway, Kyohei apparently found a secret stash of mojo, because he is much less spineless lately. In fact, he’s even got a gal pal, Kazami. Too bad the giant crow thing kidnaps her (as well as other girls) to drain her lymphatic fluid. No one believes Kyohei’s tale (I barely believed it), but Jo agrees to help him look. Meg is totally jealous and tags along. Predictably, she gets captured. Jo wants to chase after the crow, but Sei forces her to come back to guard some Bai Lan toadie. The crow shows up again and Kyohei gets injected with a nanobot killer fluid. Jo grabs Kyohei as collateral and goes freelance against Sei and her Bai Lan goons. Catfight?!
There seems to be a grand underlying struggle in Bakuretsu Tenshi: the struggle over brains. Everyone wants brains, especially if they are mutant or robot brains. Everyone, that is, except Jo. In fact, Jo is actually a brain-hater (don’t hate the playa, hate the brain). This is why she hangs out with Meg all the time. This is also why she blows every brain she comes across into little itty-bitty pieces. The preview suggests that the next episode will be about far-eastern dragon brains.
These episodes were actually fairly entertaining, in spite of the ludicrous plot. Kyohei was a lot less annoying than usual, and Sei actually did something important. For a while she was at the bottom of the totem pole, since the only thing she did was hire Kyohei (who also did nothing important). This time she was deliciously ambiguously evil, and her verbal sparring with Jo was top-notch. I look forward to more ambiguous evil. There was some good ironic humor, especially when Meg says that it’s not like she gets captured every time she steps out… and then she gets captured. As an aside, the eyecatch scenes seem to be getting even more fanservicey than usual lately.

Hah, I also thought this episode was better than normal! But still, draining lymphatic fluid? Wtf? You would think that the immune system would be the *last* thing it would be worried about
I dunno, maybe mutant brains produce a lot of toxic waste? I agree, this was a pretty good episode, and even had a great fight scene!
