My goodness, I don’t know where to begin. It’s probably the weirdest thing I have seen this year, period. Pugyuru has 5-minute episodes (reminiscent of Digi Charat) that are filled with pure insanity. Basically, the so-called plot involves a girl who’s parents left on a cruise and sent a maid named Cheko to take care of things at home. The maid, who hails from “The Maid Republic”, is a vaguely human shaped blob with a maid-head. Cheko also apparently is maid (haha, I couldn’t resist) of some sort of rubbery material, which allows for some really weird episodes.
I can’t really explain what the show is about, or describe its intentionally uber-lame animation and art. All I can say is that it manages to be strangely hilarious. If you like Azumanga Daioh or Sakikage! Cromartie High, you will most likely be able to understand the offbeat humor in Pugyuru. And yes, in the last picture up there, she really is scooping out of that person’s head and eating it. You’ll understand why if you watch it
Also of note is that the outro animation is different each time, and sort of continues the episode’s “story”. The lyrics are different every time too, and reflect the latest happenings in the show! They’re quite nonsensical but catchy.
