Although a good majority of this episode was dedicated to Sasuke’s flashback to the day that Itachi decided to go postal on the Uchiha clan, this episode gives viewers a bit more sympathy towards Sasuke and why he acts the way he does in the anime. Sasuke looked very much like any normal kid growing up, except he later has his mind and soul tarnished by the images of the Mangekyou Sharingan as Itachi replays in Sasuke’s mind how he killed everyone in the Uchiha clan.
Back in the present time, Sasuke manages to catch up to Itachi and Kisame just before they run off with Naruto. Sasuke powers up an uber Chidori, but Itachi avoids it with relative ease and breaks Sasuke’s wrist in the process. Naruto attempts to help, but Kisame’s strange blade has some chakra devouring abilties, which takes away Naruto’s chakra. Luckily, Jiraiya comes back in time to save Naruto from certain death!
Again, the Naruto series seems to have picked up big time, and Jiraiya versus Itachi and Kisame should be very interesting to see as well :-)

I still need to know how old Sasuke or Itachi was when Itachi killed the Uchiha clan.
