Kaleido Star 23

Layla confronts her father and announces her desire to put her movie career on hold, as she feels she still has some unfinished business on the stage. She can now see the stage spirit, Fool, who had previously been only seen by Sora. Fool explains to them that a pair who can see him together are strongly bonded, and are capable of performing the most dangerous and spectacular acts. There’s one act in particular that Layla has dreamed about, but the last time it was performed resulted in the deaths of its participants. I think Yuri’s father was one of them, which is why he’s so bitter at Carlos. However, Sora firmly believes the duo can do it. This is much like Hikaru no Go’s Move of God, except you die if you screw it up.

In the end Sora and Layla have no choice but to attempt it, as Yuri announced to the media that they would perform it at his stage, and the tickets are already sold out (”if you decline…the fans are the ones who are going to suffer!”)….lol…stereotypical evildoer hijink. Anyways, the only one who knows how to do the mystical act is Carlos, and he takes them to the Grand Canyon to do some super-intensive training involving cliff jumping and Kakashi-like one-handed cliff climbing. Sora looks pretty much dead at the end of this ep….ganbatte!
