It all came together in Ed’s mind now the secret to creating the Philosopher’s Stone, so he proceeded on his way to doing so. However, the hidden group of Homunculuses (or is it Homunculi?), who’ve always been hidden in the background of the past episodes of FMA, have their own ideas, and they hold Al hostage in forcing Ed to create the Philosopher’s stone for their own uses. Ed’s screaming to Al to not proceed, as Al would have to sacrifice a group of prisoners to create the stone, and Ed is torn in his mind on what to do. A very moving episode on the issue of sacrifice.
