Guilty Crown 17

Wrong? Nothing! I didn't try to kill Arisa if that's what you mean. Why do you ask?

Summary:

Resentment is building among the student body, but Shu can’t back down at this point. The other kids’ repression will all be for naught if he cuts his losses now. Everyone has a reason to want to abandon or usurp Shu. Arisa, because she’s sure that he sent Inori to kill her. Yahiro, because he knows Inori tried to kill Arisa and doesn’t care for Pink Rei’s special treatment. The Rank Fs, for what they were forced to endure. And now, the rest of the student body for being lied to about Void death (even if that wasn’t Shu’s intent).

The cat jumps right out of the box! It's crazy!

And when he leads them in an assault on Tokyo Tower, well, they sort of resemble cannon fodder. Arisa, who’s bargained with her naughty bits for some choice information about Shu’s secret plans, allows him to reach his goal of destroying the red line’s power source before throwing him a nice coup d’etat. And the kids are not at all grateful for what he’s done.

It gets worse. Gai 2.0 is here, and he’s after something: the King’s Right Hand. So he takes it. And GHQ’s plan starts to take shape.

Reaction:

YOU'RE NOT MY FATH—ok that's too easy

I love writing “it gets worse” in Guilty Crown posts. The writing process for Guilty Crown is actually just a fridge full of booze and a dart board covered in terrible things that can happen to Shu. There must have been a big party when someone finally hit “loses limb.”

The moment when Shu asks Glasses what everyone thinks of him, and gets a generic “Hail to Leader-kun” in response was one of those that makes all the ridiculousness worthwhile. Shu is well aware of the situation, and it’s gotta be hard to boil it all down to this moment, only to be usurped immediately. But in the end, of course he did go a bit far.

Yeah wooo let's go back to schoooAAAARRGGGHHHH

I guess it’s not that hard to believe that no one has sympathy for Shu, but damn… making that plan happen and then getting thrown in a hole after you saved all those people? Rough. If we’ve learned nothing about Guilty Crown, though, it’s that Shu has no friends but his own suffering. Even his mother has abandoned him. Now he doesn’t even have his arm. Well, Shu, tough break, but we all knew this wasn’t gonna end well for you. Back to darts!

People seem to think I'm some sort of classy mecha fan. But the horrible truth is that I secretly wish all giant robots were piloted by pink-haired moe girls in thigh-highs and twin-tails. I expect no one to trust my judgment, so my main goal is to entertain.

I have to hand it to Guilty Crown: I legitimately enjoyed the ending, and not just in an ironic lolShu kind of way. The whole Gai zombie thing is still ridiculous and stupid, but at least the show knows how to make an entrance with him.

If this had happened 16 episodes ago, I might still be watching.

and you might not be missing the greatest thing in the world.

Last I checked, I was blogging Symphogear, so I think I’ve got that covered.

Symphogear is pretty amazing, too. It might actually be outdumbing Guilty Crown at the moment. It’s a tough call.

Fencedude February 25, 2012 at 1:21 am

The main difference is that at no point has Symphogear ever even pretended to take itself seriously.

I’m pretty confident that it will grow back.

So Arisa is pimping herself out, Shoe gets the basic dictators downfall, and I’m guess Gai finally got to lay Mana in some wierd kinda way xD. Personally I feel sorry for the poor worn out Shoe, he did ask for the fall of a tyrant method, but he’s really been getting nothing but crap even if he does do something good. xD. I kinda liked Arisa pre-slut period, but now she’s a ruined woman for marriage! I wonder how her gramps and the rest of the organization are going to take it? At least she could have NOT let a full blown JERK get his jollies off her first…

So I did not imagine Shu loosing his arm, truly surprised here (which I love). With all the random bad luck going on I think the whole dart board its not so far fetched, lol.

LOLOL Lets go back to schooollllll! I bet episode 18 starts with them back in school…I would laugh so much! And poor arm less Shu…now you can’t hug Inori anymore well one arm hug works. I still laughed when zombie Gai showed up and was like sup OH MA SHOE, I can has my powers back? K thanks bro.

I wanted Gai to beat Shu up with his own arm that would have been perfect, I have a feeling Shu has some powerful void that Gai will eventually use to SAAVEEE THE WORRLD! Imagine some time reversal weapon…damn I hope it doesn’t really happen like that T___T

I love how after that trolling message some Kaiji reject got all mad at Shu.

Also… it’s been years since True Tears, and some guys just can’t give Noe up during the UN vote.
