Shakugan no Shana Final 18

Otou-san, if you don't pick up these glowing guitar picks, so help me I will throw them all in the garbage!

Summary:

So she drowned the fish Tomogara in water...

Yuujevil reveals his great plan which is basically to rip the fabric of the world apart in a small area with Lamies’ Anti-Spell in order to push enough power into the rift to create Xanadu.  Then he’ll restore Misaki City using Kazumi’s experience tuning with Khamsin and her knowledge of Misaki City gathered from living her whole life there.  Of course being a rather clever fellow, Yuujevil also makes sure to have Bel Peol seal Giralda (although the previews show that Bel Peol’s post-triclop seal is not much more reliable than her pre-triclop seal).  Kazumi realizes she is glad she won’t have to choose to sacrifice herself.

Of course, to make Kazumi feel even crappier, Hecate reveals that the plan calls for Hecate to sacrifice herself.  Although this takes her out of the romantic race, Hecate is still resolute, and Kazumi takes note.  Before things can progress much farther, Shana’s forces arrive to stop Yuujevil, but of course Yuujevil has made the necessary preparations to defend the ceremony.

Reaction:

Flame Hazing without a contract is a big no no

Ummm, wasn’t Kazumi’s experience tuning at the end of the first season in 2006?  What makes Yuujevil think she even remembers that internship?!  Not everyone can just wait around for thousands of years and remember ridiculous trivia like the names of every single Crimson Lord or Tomogara.  I like that Yuujevil is a capable antagonist, and he was right on point with Haridan and Lamies all working to pull off this ambitious plan.  Still the idea of using Kazumi as the backup has me a little wary.  What if some restaurant with rude waitresses just happened to slip her mind during the restoration?

The part about how the priestess must sleep in proportion to how awesome the wish she grants is was interesting.  So if you got home late and didn’t want to deal with Hecate, you could wish for a sandwich and she would have to grant it and then go to sleep?  As for other questions I had, I wonder what exactly Lamies needs the Tomogaras’ cast-off PoE for, and I also wonder why Pheles had to find those three Tomogara last time.  I doubt it’s for tracking purposes since no one can stalk like Pheles, so it must be to procure or ship some super important Deus Ex Machina object, right?  Finally, while I enjoyed SouthValley’s zerg attack and EastEdge’s beam spam, WestShore was really annoying.  Anti-air fish of water are an interesting idea, but it would have been better if anyone other than WestShore did it.

SouthValley’s zerg attack

Also shows that Flame Haze are not adverse to funny heads on black suits if they just minions.

to make Kasumi feel even crappier

Kazumi is also sad that Kabitzin can’t spell her name right. Or mad: be sure to check behind them lamp posts on your way back home from now on!

WestShore was really annoying

Just imagine how much *more* crying we’ll have to endure if she finds out, like Merry, that those Tomogara didn’t actually go back to Guze BUT WERE KILLED BY HER.

The character designers really mailed it in like Pheles this season… The green elephant and the Sigfried head in a tiger’s mouth also made me facepalm.

For some reason I got it in my head that I had used this spelling previously (in my defense, it has been 3 years since the last Shana). A quick search revealed that this was a fake memory. What can I say, sometimes a fake can be stronger than the real thing. I went back and fixed it, and hopefully when the world gets restored from the Kazumi backup, this blog won’t conveniently be titled Kungfucius and Ender’s Blog…

Thank goodness for donuts!

Next time Kazumi will summon Pheles and justify her existence for the last 69 episodes.

I really don’t care about anything else.

last 69

I see what you did there.

One of the things that annoyed me in this episode is how Chiara and Sale managed to weasel their way in to the last few major episodes. It’s like someone going to a community college for 3 years and then transferring in their last year to Harvard! At least Kazumi put in the time!

LOLOLOL @ Kazumi! Sure why not join the evil team so you can be close to Yuujevil and try to talk him out of BLOWING UP THE WORLD…because Shana had so much fun trying to do that xD

Honestly I think Kazumi is so dumb! Siggghh at least this is almost over xD
