Amagami SS 10

No one told me Sae was interviewing to be on Strike Witches

Summary:

Keep in mind that Miya takes a timeshare as a finder's fee

After getting her Talk to Vending Machines achievement, Sae is able to strike up some weather-related conversations with the cafeteria workers by taking Junichi’s advice of mentally dehumanizing them.  At the following training session in the lab, Junichi has Sae practice in quick-change exercises, but this inevitably leads to mizugi-Sae tripping and falling into Junichi’s gropembrace.

The next training site is an odd footbath at Koedo Onsen, where fish tickle your toes and possibly give you a happy ending if you tip well enough.  Miya kindly outfits Sae in a bikini that matches the swimsuits in Junichi’s favorite magazines, but Junichi faints after hearing Sae fishgasming.  This is followed with some board games, Miya-Sae bathing, and a sleepover.  When Junichi mentions that Sae would be a cute little sister, however, Sae lets him know that that is one fantasy that she is not into.

Reaction:

I wonder if they float... better have Miya check it out

Ugh, the game of Life.  That’s right up there with Monopoly in terms of boring, long games that never get finished, even if you spend the entire time ogling your sister’s busty friend’s cleavage.  Although the art and narrator in this arc are terrible, I notice that Junichi is very resourceful in this universe.  Unlike in the previous two arcs, this world’s Junichi has outsourced the lower-body kissing to a bunch of fish (they work for skin flakes!) which frees him up to admire the topography.  Junichi’s sister is also much more involved in making sure that Sae meets all of Junichi’s expectations to avoid any unfortunate narcoleptic incidents.

Of course the part where Sae refuses to be cast in the pseudo-imouto role was very telling.  The thing is, I bet Sae actually comes from a line of maids or something; she’s probably not even shy or clumsy.  It’s just an excuse for her to indulge her exhibitionist and role-playing side with Junichi, similar to Haruka (who expertly stole screen time yet again).  I’m not sure whose side Miya is on, since it seems like she is a dual agent.  Is this a conflict of interest?  Or perhaps an intersection of interest?

Maybe Miya doesn’t mind sharing the meat buns?

There are two of them…

But I could have sworn she had two meat buns last episode. She won’t be satisfied with just two…

Two is the bared minimum.

Sae is certainly starting to show a little bit of a Haruka side, though I don’t think she’s going to go as far with it as her predecessor. Or at least not in the same way. Maybe she’ll play it more like Junichi in the Haruka arc did and she’ll be the creative one this time.

What don’t you like about the narrator? I find him hilarious and a great component of this arc, something that gives it its own unique qualities relative to the other arcs. Half of the people watching Amagami seem to love him, half don’t care for him at all. What in particular don’t you like about him?

The narrator seems superfluous to me. You could just have Junichi thinking aloud and get the same effect, and I don’t think the narrator’s that funny. Plus they didn’t use a narrator in any other arc, so it seems out of place to me.

I can’t believe I’ll have to wait another week for another episode. Sae kept dishing out what she’s got to offer, and I’m overwhelm by it all. Her voice finally became a dangerous (and delicious) weapon, and there seems to be no bounds to what you can get her to do (; I blame peer pressure). Nishishi

Haruka (who expertly stole screen time yet again).

I guess she really wants to be on tv that badly.

I didn’t vote for Haruka in our poll, but she is a star.

Why is it that I start to warm up to Kaoru just now? She finally acts the way a friend is supposed to instead of just blushing and kicking our hero.

Great improvement this episode. Sae is able to talk to Junichi at last so there’s a space for their relationship to grow beyond “she’s even cuter than my purse… and she’s got boobs!” We’ll see.

Kaoru definitely seems like friend material to me. Sae keeps trying to appeal with moe moe power, but she can’t seem to trigger any of his flags!

Very nice to see how Haruka managed to get more action with Miya than in her own arc. Latter certainly got a face full of meat bun there. :D

Also relieved that Sae’s voice seems a lot less irritating in this episode – it drove me up the wall in the previous episode but now it seems that she actually sounds much more pleasant.

I don’t understand why Miya doesn’t like Haruka in this universe. Miya is such a fan of giant meat buns, and Haruka isn’t even after her Nii Nii in this arc. Isn’t that win-win for Miya?

Sae has toned down the timidness, but her voice still annoys me.

I’m definitely feeling this arc (me being a total pushover when it comes to shy girls w/helium), but one character that continues to con-foo-zle me is Miya… doesn’t she totally have the hawts for her Nii-nii? Why is she supporting the enemy?!? Where’s the chemistry?!? IT’S NOT THERE DAMMIT!!! The only time we see Miya in “Oh-No-U-Didn’t” mode is in Haruka’s arc. I understand that every arc is a reset, but that doesn’t mean they need to drop the jealous-prick side of Miya. All I’m saying is there should be at least one arc with some cat-fightin’! >:3

Not sure if this is exclusive to Eclispe’ release, but Miya’s “Romance of the Three Beaver Kingdoms” made me giggle like a Tickle-Me-Elmo on steroids! YEAH!!!…

Edit: oh, and this

Beavers

I was gonna cap that pan, but the stitching on her arms wasn’t coming out right and I was getting impatient. You have my thanks for doing the hard work for me!
