Summary:

Kaoru is pissed that Keiko’s douchebag of a crush took the letter and laughed about it with his friends. However, Junichi hijacks the situation and suddenly asks if Kaoru has anyone else she likes. This leads to an awkward moment as Kaoru tries to explain how their situation is a pale pastel pink. In an effort to enhance their relationship and break the tension, Kaoru pretends to move in for a kiss, but accidentally ends up giving Junichi a peck as he’s struggling.
Emboldened, Junichi breaks out his stern Villain Voice on Kaoru, telling her to come to the library room so he can have his revenge. Revenge may be a dish best served cold, but it’s also a dish best tasted with a warm, sensual, flickering tongue. Kaoru gives Junichi permission to kiss her bellybutton, and of course he gives Kaoru a little extra special tongue service on top. Miya can’t believe what she’s seeing, and our little naughty couple balances out their karma by helping some kids get a stuck shuttlecock out of a tree. As Kaoru is happily bouncing to her part-time job, she suddenly spots her mom, but before Kaoru can greet her, a man comes up and takes her mother’s arm.

Miya's sexual frustration just rose exponentially
I heartily applaud the decision to have Junichi constantly kissing various innocent body parts in a way that makes it look like he is going down on his target. I also like that each dimension’s Junichi has consistent likes and abilities, like tongue mastery, a preference for being mounted, and a Villain Voice that gets girls in the mood. Hopefully Junichi won’t break his back when Rihoko tries to jump on top.
While Haruka’s problem was some vague inexplicable fear of being abandoned, Kaoru has a more concrete daddy issue. I love that we did not get to see Kaoru’s mom’s face or the man’s face, because it sets up all kinds of incredible explanations for Kaoru’s shocked expression. I understand that Kaoru’s probably just surprised that her mom is on a date, but how awesome would it be if her mom was meeting:
- Keiko’s douchebag crush: Then in class, the douchebag could be like, “You weren’t raised to talk like that Kaoru; your mom said so… in bed.”
- Kaoru’s father’s brother or brother from another mother: Poaching is legal in Awkward City.
- Kaoru’s teacher: “Nice work on this test, Kaoru. You’re a fast learner, just like your mother.”
- Golgo 13: Your girlfriend’s father isn’t scary. Golgo 13 is scary.

After suspecting Kaoru of intercepting Junichi’s Christmas date, I’m now thinking that it was Miya who ambushed the poor girl instead. Miya’s just a bit slow on the uptake but once she detects a woman (who does not try to seduce her and share her Nii-nii as part of the package deal) making the moves, she will plotting some evil and overly elaborate scheme to get rid of the competition.
And the Pokemon reference made me LOL.
First the episode 5 preview and now this. My head is screaming indecent thoughts, when will the madness stop!!
Really surprised how they inserted the whole drama out of nowhere, considering how smooth things are going for Kaoru, and Junichi with the whole “they can be more than just friends”. And Kabitzin…

Oooh, poor Rihoko, you cruel, cruel man! She’s like Amagami’s version of Hiro from HidaSketch, just without the tentacle hair. Sure she’s not the brightest bulb in the box, but I can’t wait to see how her arc will play out (though Ayatsuji ‘I am final boss’ Tsukasa is still my favorite.)
