Summary:
Oh I like RPGs, but I take my roleplaying VERY seriously
Junichi is hyped after falling in love, and now Haruka is acting rather shy. Although Haruka denies Junichi another kiss on the eyebrows, she offers to let him kiss her if he can find a place to kiss her where they will not run into anyone on the way. Junichi skillfully guides Haruka to the water pump shed, but before he can do some pumping of his own, Haruka changes the rules and puts her lips out of bounds.
Junichi then spins some completely BS story about kissing behind the knees, and Haruka agrees to it and finds it very… pleasing. Haruka can’t believe how things are going, but Hibiki reassures her that just because Junichi is younger doesn’t mean he will be turned off by her freaky tastes. Indeed, Junichi withstands her embarrassing Nyan Nyan Attack the next day and even gets her to agree to a public foreplay session where he messily feeds her ramen while she pretends that she has been kidnapped and tied up. Vitamin Water better get ready, because there is a good chance that Haruka, Miya, and Junichi could really take their talents to South Beach for a potent threesome!

Holy crap, did I just watch an entire episode of foreplay?! I owe Haruka an apology. She’s not a manipulative tease at all. The girl just likes to keep things exciting and weeds out boring guys. However, Junichi’s persistence really paid dividends in this episode, and while certainly a little… unusual, I have to say he played each situation brilliantly. Under the fence and into the shed (with hay bed)? Brilliant. Animal roleplay and public imaginary BDSM? Brilliant. While Masayoshi is wasting his time with swimsuit magazines, Junichi is making an incredible run right now. I can only imagine what sounds Satoshi has to put up with!
I am really psyched for this series. Junichi wields his puppy-dog demeanor like a halberd of destruction, with both slashing and crushing damage. His high resilience makes him hard to take down with initial teasing and wing-girl cock-blocking, and I cannot wait to see him in each scenario (or does a different guy get with each girl?), especially if it is not just a reset. It kinda reminded me of the torture scene in NOLF where the enemy acts like there is no way he will spill the beans just because you ask him the same question thrice… but then does. Damn, persistence is awesome!

Hahahaha – this episode just got crazier as it went along, and I couldn’t stop laughing. The shed, the “knee kissing” pose, the soup dribbling down her chin: every time I thought it was going to level off it upped the ante. I was even disappointed when the credits rolled around, as I really wanted to see what he could talk her into next.
I’m also curious as to how they’re going to handle the transitions between girls as Haruka seems so easy to please right now that I can’t imagine him screwing up that badly in just one episode and then moving on to someone else (and he can’t possibly be bored of playing with her yet). I guess we’ll see soon enough, but if they can maintain this level of wackiness this series is truly going to be awesome.
I don’t think Haruka is easy to please at all! I think Junichi’s just got all the right tools, because Haruka is quite finicky. She was also very astute, as she noticed Junichi trying to move up the leg and always kept her skirt pinned down to avoid any panty shots. I was definitely completely surprised and amused by this episode.
She plays hard to get, but you saw how quick she was to grab him when she saw him talking to other girls. And the pump shed as a romantic getaway (you have to wonder who else he’s taken to the shed)? I’ll concede that he has to keep her entertained, but as long as he does that she seems extremely pliable and open to just about anything he’ll suggest. Hibiki is really the one he has to stay on good terms with, as a word from her could shut down his knee-licking days permanently.
I dunno, Hibiki was actually encouraging Haruka. She was even saying not to interrupt their foreplay in the cafeteria. A dark twist: Hibiki is so tired of trying to keep Haruka satisfied herself, she’s glad someone else is doing the hard work for her while she gets to sit back and relax. Sounds reasonable enough to me :p
I figure Hibiki knows about Haruka’s unique tastes and so tries to protect her by cock-blocking guys who won’t be able to deal with Haruka. Since Junichi is so persistent, I think he proved himself to Hibiki and earned her blessing.
I have to say that I had alot of fun while my braincells died ^_^
Let’s not mince words, both Haruka and Junichi have some real issues. But then again, they’re not supposed to be shining examples of responsible adolescents ascending to adulthood. They’ll grow up eventually or not. But right now, they’re pretty hilarious high school kids living out a mutual crush, nothing more, nothing less. And they should be seen and treated as such.
Yes, it’s very easy to slam Junichi for being a spineless wimp, who feels no shame in acting like a dog puppy in front of the girl he loves. Yes, it’s easy to slam Haruka for being a self-indulgent brat with the maturity of a green banana. But that’s how people are. If I think back to my high school days, I have to say that I did some things I’d feel embarrassed about if I were confronted with them nowadays, too.
And I need to hand it to the show: It’s been a fairly creative and really funny episode. And after 968123 iterations of mushy harem romance between googly-eyed idol level girls and a wussy indecisive wimp, I find it exceptionally refreshing to have a story where the guy needs to show some real persistence to get together with the girl he likes. And guess what, from their disposition, Junichi fits Haruka like a glove.
I think that Haruka is really easy to read. There are two conflicting forces fighting it out inside her head: On one hand, we have the uber-playful and excited/excitable girl who wants to enjoy life, live out her fantasies and be a good sport. That’s the girl who will allow a guy to kiss her knee’s back because he managed to clear the tasks she put in front of him. And then there’s her defensive mechanisms: The girl who will ask a guy to look elsewhere when she’s crawling through the fence, who will hold her skirt down, who will amend the rules when he’s zooming in for the kiss, and – also – who noticed the crush in ep1 and consciously sent the stop sign. That was way too targeted to have been a mere coincidence.
Haruka isn’t dumb. She also hasn’t forgotten her “want someone older to depend on” line, which in fact happens to be a good idea ^_^; … she could use someone levelheaded to make sure she doesn’t go overboard, but at the same time, that’s not what she really wants or needs. She wants a companion who would enjoy the plays in her life as much as she does. And she’s weak against the persistence Junichi shows.
At the moment, Junichi is winning because he manages to relentlessly tickle her playful side, so that her defense is overpowered. Once he manages to overcome this last hurdle in a permanent way, he’ll have won.
So, I’m very much looking forward to how things go from here. So many details to enjoy. For example Haruka’s “Mumumumu” (100% Wilhelmina from Shakuga no Shana) while she was gathering her courage for the Nyan Nyan Attack.

This episode put a new twist on the situation. I don’t think that Junichi is spineless, because he definitely takes action to get what he wants and he actually comes out and says what he is feeling. I can respect that. I guess he is just not as patient strategically, since he will doggedly pursue his crush. However, in this case it’s the right approach, as Haruka needs someone so devoted to her that he will tolerate and even embrace her eccentricities. BTW, your green banana comment reminds me of this commercial:
I tend to dislike odd genki girls in romantic pairings (*cough* Noe *cough*), but those two make an awesome couple. The wonderful PDA scene in the cafeteria with everyone else looking on in horror as Junichi and Haruka lovingly played in their own little world was just so… romantic! Most guys that go after Haruka probably just want her bod, but she has so much more to offer, such as her willingness to engage in unusual public innuendo and experiment with innovative positions.
And there is definitely something to be said for keeping things fresh.

But just have to say: given how much everyone’s been talking about Haruka and Junichi in *that* scene, it gives a whole new spin to Miya calling her dearest brother KNEE KNEE…
I see what you did there! If Miya ever saw what happened in that shed, I think heads would roll. I also gleefully imagine Miya staring in horror as Junichi uses his villain voice =3.

There really are no words for this. I could not be more glad that I decided to stick with this series. I’m with halfadeckshort in being utterly delighted at how the episode continually raised its game. The Love Shack, Junichi attacking Haruka’s knee like a newborn child, the roleplay . . . just completely unbelievable.
I think we all know that the knee was like a try-out camp for Junichi’s tongue skills and needless to say he impressed the scouts.
Mad props for the stealth pen-and-paper RPG refs.
