Kushina’s unique chakra (which is part of the seal) allows Naruto to sprout spiky chakra chains that hold down the Kyuubi. With the emo fox out of the way, Naruto realizes who Kushina is and tearfully jumps into her arms. Kushina has a short-temper and some Naruto-esque speech patterns, and she is overjoyed when Naruto mentions she has great hair. Naruto’s only the second fan of redheads in this manga, with the first being Minato. Also, everyone in Naruto’s family wants to be Hokage.

In Kushina’s flashback, we learn that she used to get teased for her red hair, but one day the Hidden Cloud village abducted her to use her awesome secret chakra powers. While she was being led away, Kushina left a trail of her red hairs, and only Minato noticed the trail. After he rescued her, Kushina loved both Minato and her red hair. As the chapter comes to a close, Kushina tells Naruto that she loves him as well.
Reaction:
Well, Kushina’s flashback was sweet, but her appearance was a bit disappointing. First off, given how Naruto reacted to meeting Minato, I thought for sure that Naruto would punch Kushina in the baby-maker. Even worse, Kushina is basically red-haired Sakura. Since everyone always seems to marry girls that are like their mothers, Hinata’s slim chances just got worse. Damn that is so depressing…
I also want to know if Minato’s promotion to Hokage caused a riff. Did he and Kushina actually get married or did Minato just knock her up? I bet after his promotion, the wedding was called off. Kushina’s mind-spirit is gonna be pretty bummed when the Kyuubi chimes in that Tsunade already became the first female Hokage, too. At least we found out why Naruto always wears orange, since his mom’s color is red and his dad’s color is yellow.

well to be more precise Kushina is lake Naruto and Hinata is more lake his dad, at least in my opinion, so, that should leave her with the same chances that she had before this chapter
Maybe, but Naruto never gives her the time of day so it’s still pretty depressing.
Lol yeah Kushina is lot more like Sakura than Hinata. I guess Hinata will end up marrying one of her cousins like every other Hyuuga. Still have to root for the underdog though.

Well Naruto is like his mom, but Kushina has that whole inner-Sakura-type of personality, too.

Why did I get the feeling from her asking; “Didn’t Minato tell you?” that she is not aware that he is dead? I don’t know how that could be though since he died trapping the fox and she knows her chakra helped do so. I guess the big question is; “How did she die?”
I think she’s referring to the time when Minato met his son just as Naruto was about to pull off the seal and unleash the Kyuubi (you know, when he was battling Nagato). She mentions that they both made seals of their chakra (or something like that) in which both of them would come forth to meet their son when he planned to release the seal and when Naruto was ready to take control of the Kyuubi. That’s what I think, though.
That really is the big question of how she died. Maybe she died along Minato in sealing the Kyuubi? Who knows.

Dang, blood is stronger than fate. Naruto ended up completely like his parents, and the most surprising is he’s more like his mom. She’s a tomboy, and a cutie at that. but wow, yellow and red hair, bet you Naruto’s child going to have red hair, otherwise I’m going to be mad.

Just kidding, I refuse to accept Sakura as the future wife of Naruto. She had her chance, and Hinata was first to confess her love wholeheartedly. Let the blood line limit pass on to another family besides the Hyuuga.

I thought the hair thing was really clever. Red + yellow = orange; red hair of fate… etc.
Naruto’s crushing on his mom though is also kind of funny.
