It’s the morning of July 12^th and the day begins with morning stretches, but someone decides to bunk her big head into their exercise. It’s none other than Hiro, who instead of ruining their fun, decides to stretch and lose weight along with them. “I’m not giving Jenny Craig another cent!” says Hiro, who realized she could lose weight at the comfort of her backyard for FREE.99!

While Anti-Jenny-Craigin’, they realize the tomatoes they’ve been growing since episode 4 are in full bloom, and are exhilarated by the similarities of said tomatoes to their heads. “Thou must celebrate the 40^th week of Justin Bieber as a Trending Topic”, saideth Miyako, but her stomach translates: “LET’S HAVE A TOMATO FEAST!”

"No doubt! It was the best thing since Sliced-Bread!" and/or "I still do Fan-Sketches; I just don't post them online anymore..."

Everyone is excited for the Tomato Feast, but the Landlady just so happens to pass by and ruin their fun. “I hear there’s gonna be a Tomato Party here”, said the Landlady, Ruler of all Lands and Ladies. The Hidamariers had no choice but to reluctantly invite her to the feast, and with that they begin the preparations.

"PENIS HANDS" and/or "Those Crabs... taste... funny..."

Yuno, Nori, and Nazna visit the local Berry Mart “Da-Da” Daily Foods Store for more ingredients. “Hey gaiz I’m sellin’ sum crack cocaine here”, says an interrupting cow Yoshinoya, but the 3 Hidalets laugh in spite of themselves. They don’t think she’s funny, but because the script tells them otherwise, they laugh and leave comments on this post. (plus, they get extra mula for the last episode)

"What are you? One of those girls from ZetsuBITCH Sensei?"

Back at the apartments, Miyako and Sae start beating some dough while Hiro stands there watching. A few minutes later, the Three (spelled out this time) Hidalets notice somebody posted a cheap advertisement on their house. It’s none other than Ristorante Paradiso who came along to remind Jesus159159159 that he still hasn’t finished blogging, let alone finish watching the series.

Long story short: They have the tomato feast, they Simba, look at the stars, pose for a time-consuming pin-up fan-service for da BOIZ, and Yuno, while reenacting Titanic, takes her last bath. THE END!

"BUDGET?!?! WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?!?!” – “UMMM, UMMM, MAYBE, IT MEANS, LIKE, TO LEAVE A LOT OF SPAM COMMENTS ON SUBCULTURE ANIME BLOG AND ALSO BE A SHAFT FANBOY!” – “OHHH OKAY!!!"

Impressions:

I noticed the new soundtrack was used extensively in this episode, while previous episodes would occasionally switch back and forth from new to old tracks of previous seasons. I assume they use new-tunes for the present-day (Nori/Nazna saga), and old-tunes for flashback segments, though I can’t be certain since I haven’t been paying much attention to it.

I liked Nori and Nazna’s nervousness with the Landlady, and it was mean cute to see the regular gang poke fun at them. I guess Nori can be awkward as well, which would explain her PC obsession perfectly (/hypocrite). Speaking of hypocrites, HIRO IS LEFT HANDED AND SAE IS AMBIDEXTROUS?!?! Well, I admit I also use my right hand when eating “hand-food” (ex: French fries, pizza, burgers) so I can prevent my left hand from getting dirty (btw, I’m left-handed). It’s interesting to note these tiny details, and it may be a good reason why people come back to Hidamari again and again.

As a side note, you know what was missing from this episode? NATSUME!!! Even that Green-Thing/Tingle was absent in this episode! I know I’ve discussed how much I hate Natsume, but you can’t fault a girl who’s in love!

It’s always difficult to describe the final episode of a slice-of-life series, because it can’t be considered a true finale. In short, “Life Goes On”, as someone I would usually link to would say. The episode continues to add subtle moments of happiness which make a satisfying conclusion.
