Zaku Eye Sea Slug

My absorption by the Sea Slugs! Anime Blob could be said to be the result of a long process of osmosis.

Kabitzin, with his orz-inducing puns, humorous comments and mutual fanboydom of Lunamaria Hawke, was a big encouragement when I first started hontou ni sou omou? From those ancient times (Gatchapen desu!), SS!AB’s tentacles have had a shadowy influence;  the now retired Ender was the first to nail the siscon colours on Stripey who returned the favour by supporting the rebellion; Kabitzin generously provided plenty of technical advice and direct assistance on themes, plugins, assorted customization and the eventual gattai with Hontou ni Taihen desu; most of all, the ethos of enjoying anime, enjoying anime blogging and entertaining the reader in the process. Being selected is an opportunity to plunder all the SS!AB secrets give something back. Hontou Ni will continue to be maintained but my focus there will probably shift to picking up stuff I couldn’t, before, be arsed to.

I’m excited to be part of a growing site and look forward to mixing it up with the team and readership. Generally I love anime with bishoujo characters (especially when they love each other). And those with the potential for utterly misleading out-of-context tangential trajectories (especially with yuri delusion). And Maaya Sakamoto, Shizuka Itou or Miki Itou in a prominent role. And those with Rei Ayanami clones. And random allusions to the few classic anime that I have actually seen.

Blogging current anime in a pack, Stripey once said, is like riding a rollercoaster.  Through the ups and downs, thrills and spills, week by week, it’s more fun when you have a whole bunch yelling, whooping, hollering, screaming (in fear/ecstasy/for Mommy/I’ve dropped my wallet) along for the ride. Hearing the protestations and insane rants full of hatred from those who want out, demanding  their time/bandwidth/eyeballs back.  Trying to tempt onboard those on the sidelines.

Being part of the Sea Slugs! Family, under Don Kabitzin and his capos and consiglieres, allows me to hop onto yet another bigger, badder ride as well as take step towards the fulfilment of my greatest blogging ambition ever: to make Mentar spew Coke all over his monitor again. And then again for a hat trick. Yoroshiko (as they say in German)!
