Summary:

Kakashi wants to take Madara out, but Madara just tells Kakashi not to bother since most Sharingan attacks don’t work on him. After Zetsu, Madara, and Sasuke leave, the rest of Team 7 grabs their new healbot, Karin, and head back. Killer Bee also makes his triumphant return to Kumogakure, as he shows off the lovesick Samehada. Unfortunately, it turns out the whole victory over Kisame was actually over Kisame’s stunt double, as White Zetsu is capable of creating a weak clone with the same appearance and chakra signature of anyone that he’s ever touched. The idea is that since Killer Bee is heavily guarded, it will take a slick infiltration to retrieve the 8-tails successfully. Because the sensors make an ass out of you and me by assuming that Samehada has the same chakra signature as Kisame since it ate his chakra, they don’t realize that Kisame is actually hiding inside Samehada’s mouth.

Elsewhere Sasuke wants Itachi’s eyes now so that he can battle Naruto at full strength, which pleases Madara. Further away in Takigakure, Kabutorochimaru finally gets used to his new powers and sends some muthafkn snakes through the muthafkn pipes to kill 3 Takigakure extras.

Whenever Sasuke and Naruto shut up, things really move along. I’m not sure what to think about Sasuke wanting Itachi’s eyes, considering that Itachi was nearly blind and that’s why he supposedly wanted Sasuke’s eyes… If it was really that easy, why wouldn’t Uchihas just trade eyes and exploit the loophole? I figure Sasuke really has an anti-Madara plan in addition to wanting to crush Naruto. Again, Sakura was even worse than useless, as the scratch that Sasuke put on Naruto’s cheek deeply sickened Naruto.
I’m glad about Kisame, though, since he was always my favorite Akatsuki member. In retrospect, it did seem a little too easy right after White Zetsu tagged in, and the whole Samehada thing was super-suspicious. It’s funny how Killer Bee is eager to equip Samehada, and I can only imagine the item-comparison screen between the Samehada and Killer Bee’s original pencils. Hopefully Killer Bee didn’t use all his talent points on off-knee and off-armpit multi-wielding and left some for 2-handed weapons.

I think for Sharingans, trading eyes is only necessary for the Mangekyou. Most Uchiha never achieve the Mangekyou so they don’t worry about losing their sight.
Hopefully Kisame can make up for that lame fight he had with Killer Bee.
Haha, shark-mode was kinda stupid; makes me feel bad for Kisame. He was already so sensitive and self-conscious from being teamed with Itachi for so long.
Sasuke needs Itachi’s eyes to counter the effect of the Mangekyou Sharingan. Those who have the MS suffer from gradual blinding and the only way to stop it is to combine your eyes with another Magekyou Sharingan pair, but the pair has to be from a sibling, otherwise, it won’t work. Combining Mangekyou Sharingan eyes will awaken the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan, which is what Madara has. The EMS doesn’t have a such thing as blindness, so that’s what Sasuke’s after.
I didn’t think you actually physically combined the eyes, though. I thought you just swapped yours out and put the new ones in.
I’m happy that kisames alive but that pretty much garuntees kisame getting the hachibi now. Akatsuki was always gonna get it at some point cos they need the juubi at some point ( come on they can’t leave a major plot point like that unfulfilled). Wats really got me is how masses will get the kyuubi to make the juubi. The fourth homage already discussed how he’s deliberately made it so naruto will be able to unleash and control all of the kyuubi power ( and that’s wat makes naruto unique in the show anyway). I’m trying to think of some way madara could make the juubi or something like that while naruto still maintains the kyuubi.
Definitely some food for thought.
I agree that things don’t look great for Killer Bee now. I wonder if Karin will hear how he got the sword and clue them in with her sensor abilities somehow, but they’re in different villages. I guess I’d be satisfied with a Karin costume change. We’ll see if she opts for a padded cloak again…
I liked how the chapter is setting up for bigger things in the future, like Sasuke’s EMS, Kisame’s mission and Kabuchimaru’s reappearance.
I should’ve known that Kisame would still be alive cos it did seem back in the day that Tobi was planning something specifically for him when they talked.
As for Sakura, even Karin laying around half dead did more for Team 7 then she did in this whole debacle.
I liked this chapter much more than the last few chapters of Naruto x Sasuke babbling. So much for things being near the end. At this rate there could be a big battle resulting in a blind Sasuke disappearing and then another time skip!

Yes, Kakashi knows that the 4th was Naruto’s father. Which is kind of a dick thing when you think about it since he didn’t bother to tell Naruto.
in the end i think Naruto and Sasuke with end up teaming up against a fused Madara/Tailed beast. But before that the gift Sasuke brother gave naruto will last minute change sasuke heart. As for Zetsu, i wouldn’t mind if they did a back story on him or hims.

I always found it odd that even knowing that everyone in the village knew naruto was the son of the 4th they still treated him that way and he would not have lived a better upper class ninja life.
