Summary:
Sasuke hits it then quits it
In a flashback we learn that Danzo is actually a real Konoha patriot; unfortunately he is a crappy leader. During an ambush, Tobirama’s team was forced to have someone volunteer as a decoy/sacrifice to save the rest of the team. When Danzo hesitated to volunteer, his rival Hiruzen volunteered without missing a beat. Tobirama overruled both of them and volunteered himself, appointing Hiruzen as the 3rd hokage. Back in the present, a mortally wounded Danzo attempts to trap Madara (who moves in to take Shisui’s eye) in a Ura Shishou Fuuin jutsu (reverse four symbols seal). As expected, the jutsu merely eats away a big chunk of the bridge and is too slow to hurt Sasuke and Madara, who decide to move on to Konoha next.
Sakura is always trying to put me to sleep with her boring fights
Meanwhile, Kiba succeeds in tracking down Sasuke, and Sakura immediately tries to put everyone to sleep with a sleep bomb. Unfortunately for her, her reflexes are slow as hell, and Sai easily stops her. Kakashi actually ordered Sai to prevent the entire team from engaging Madara and Sasuke, so it looks like we might get a little bit of in-fighting (but probably not).
Reaction:
I didn’t think Sasuke would really sacrifice Karin, and for most of the chapter I figured he was just saying those harsh words to Karin so that Danzo would toss her away. After checking the panels a few times, however, it really looks like Karin would have been sucked into Danzo’s final jutsu, since the battle took place in the middle of the bridge. What a waste of a healer.
As for Sakura… she just makes my head hurt sometimes. She’s as dumb as Naruto when it comes to non-book stuff, and she really has a poor understanding of her mediocre (at best) combat abilities. Could she even beat Akamaru? He’d probably pee all over her and beat her up without breaking a sweat.

I totally forgot that Karin was at the bidge with Danzo. I was hoping either Sasuke or Madara would have at least taken her with them. And Danzo, well I still think he’s still messed up, and even if he tries to pull a “I’ll sacrifice myself for Konoha” the last minute, it doesn’t erase the things he done.
Yeah, she’s been annoying for the past few chapters. This girl really wants to die in Sasuke arms, or something.
That’s true, it’s like saying “bless his heart” after saying something mean about him. As for Sakura, you’d think someone so smart and skilled with chakra would realize what a power difference there is between her and everyone.
Everything in this chapter boggles me, I just realized I haven’t cared about these characters in a long long time. Why? Because they don’t have anything new to offer, the last time I was genuinely surprised was Hinata’s confession way back when (WHERE THE CRAP IS SHE!?). We’ve been down the same general storyline for about 200 or so chapters. GET ON WITH IT ALREADY!
Also, Sakura’s ability to use her Chakra to the fullest makes her able to resist genjutsu, so she has a chance of fighting Sasuke… WHEN HE WAS 12 YEARS OLD. FFS, what the crap is she thinking? “LOL I’M GOING TO GO KILL SASUKE! LOL.” Wait, that’s not the best part! “I’M GOING TO DO IT BY MYSELF! LOL”. Its like she wants to die or something… well she has done nothing so far… nor do I care… so… w/e. Move this along.

I think we can all agree that Sakura is along solely to cry and heal everyone at the end.
I actually thinks Karin is lying between the two columns, which Danzo didn’t take out. Karin might be still dead though, or maybe Sakura will arrive on the scene and heal her up. Don’t know what the point of that would be though lol.
That is a possibility, since it’s hard to tell which trees they were at. If they were at that tree on the edge, maybe she’s alive, but it seemed like a mortally wounded Danzo would have had to go very far to make it to the Danzo tree in the middle of the bridge before his death.
Karin: Sasuke… doesn’t… respect… healers…
Sakura: Don’t talk, I’ll heal you!
Karin: Sasuke… I… still love… you….
Sakura: [smothers Karin with a pillow when no one is looking]
I actually think that the Sai currently with Sakura is actually Naruto. He does manage to act like Sai, but he then says something peculiar and very Naruto-esque: “I won’t let anyone past.” Basically, he was trying to get with Kiba and Sakura in order to find Sasuke and prevent anyone else from fighting him (as he probably knew that Sakura would try to do that).
Another piece of evidence is the last page of the manga, where it shows Sai with Kakashi. I don’t think that was a flashback; instead, I think that was the real Sai with Kakashi, predicting what would happen when the two meet (since he knows that Sakura and Naruto would fight).
Just some thoughts and predictions, though.
That would make sense, although wouldn’t Kiba/Akamaru have smelled Naruto out?
Actually, I was wrong; it’s Sai’s clone. If you go to the end of Ch. 473, Kakashi remarks that Sai has made a clone. Sai did this to follow Sakura and let Naruto, Kakashi, and Yamato about what Sakura really wanted to say.
