Gildart’s back and everyone vacates the street and gets out of his way. Gildart’s magic is capable of smashing anything he touches (Gildart Smash!), and he tends to just walk through walls rather than use doors. Gildart is surprised at all the changes, and doesn’t even recognize newly conservative Mirajane. He also informs Makarov that he was unable to complete the 100-year quest. Makarov isn’t too disappointed, however, since Gildart is the first person to even make it back alive from that quest.
I guess you could say the mission cost him an arm and a leg!
Gildart calls Natsu in to tell Natsu about the black dragon that he met at Sacred Mt. Zonia. Unlike the red Igneel, the black dragon flies all around ganking humans, and even powerful Gildart was badly wounded in an instant. Natsu stubbornly exclaims that Dragon Slayer magic is meant for battling dragons, but even he knows that a dragon that could badly hurt Gildart would be nearly impossible to defeat. Meanwhile, Makarov notes that now that Fairy Tail has 3 Dragon Slayer mages, things are playing out exactly as Porisika foretold.
Reaction:
I was disappointed that Gildart didn’t have Gerard’s face, but at least he had a peg leg. I wonder if we really are starting to delve into the real storyline about Natsu and the dragons, and I can’t wait to see how the big dragon family reunion goes. Oh yeah, too bad for Gildart. So close to finishing that mission and he gets screwed over by a dragon that’s just passing by! At least Gildart still has 97 years to complete it, right?
