Summary:
Mana is indeed at tennis camp, but when she sees Touya she quickly steals his cab and leaves him stranded with Haruka. Haruka goes for a run, but the sexual frustration is still there, so she steps out of the shower and tries to get Touya to sleep with her. However, Touya can’t get over how flat Haruka’s chest is and tells her that she’ll catch a cold, he’s not her brother from another mother, and the back spot is reserved for Yuki. Still, Touya has absolutely no problem blowing off his duties as manager, and so stays behind overnight; he finally realizes he was totally using Haruka for menial tasks and makes up for it with a forehead kiss. Haruka calls him on being stingy, so Touya responds with some real tongue action, and then bikes back that night.
Elsewhere Tamaru Kenichi has Misaki come in because he wants her to write a story about how Touya is having an affair with Yayoi. Unfortunately, due to either a communication breakdown or perhaps fetal alcohol syndrome, Hiiragi-san mistakenly sells Yayoi the negatives instead of just blackmailing her. Menou then intercedes by having Hiiragi-san take titillating photos of her and offering the scoop to Misaki to protect Touya. We also get a scene that suggests that Menou is the Milli-Vanilli to Natsuko’s Charles Shaw. Suddenly it makes sense why Menou has almost no support staff, girl you know it’s true! In other disturbing news, Mana shows up at the hospital looking for Touya, and his dad (finally revealed as Fujii Gouzou) sees her as a lolicious version of Yuki.
Reaction:
Wouldn’t it be hilarious if somehow Yayoi came out with the darkhorse “win”? Other than some kisses, I think Touya has been faithful to her, which makes almost no sense. Anyway, in spite of the typical crappy production values, I was surprised to see little touches like the flickering shadows and Haruka’s evaporating footsteps. I was confused about whether Touya hit it and quit it, or if he used his patented restroom excuse again, but I don’t really need to see any more of Haruka (not that there was much more to see). I will give her props for her amazing ability to get every single tennis ball in the basket, though. Also, I bet Haruka fapped all over Touya’s jacket before she gave it back.
Things are also getting very interesting at M3. I loved how Rina was upset but knew enough to keep Touya off her so she could go out with her game face on. It also seems like Menou’s going to protect Touya and get Itsuki back for all those beatings by having Misaki expose everything (if she ever wakes up). Eiji is going to go into a crazed fit of laughter when he sees that M3′s star is a skanky fraud, and this will set the stage for Rina to take Menou’s place for a Venus Festival showdown between Rina and Yuki! I am kinda hoping that at the last second Menou stops singing while the vocals mysteriously continue, followed by Natsuko coming out on stage and throwing off her frumpy clothes to reveal a skimpy outfit and a gun guitar. White Album, make it happen!

Yeah, this is just… weird. It’s like… where the hell did Menou come from? We heard her name once, maybe twice, in the first thirteen episodes, now she’s saying she’s another childhood friend of Touya and she seems to have the hots for him and she wants to protect him. What the hell is going on, seriously?
Also Hiiragi epic fail, but man, can Tamaru get any more delusional?
And damn, Touya’s dad is losing it, he was the last sane person on the show. I guess it’s time for the gates of hell to open up and swallow up the entire city, cuz there’s nothing but madness left here.
I guess it’s possible that Menou is a childhood friend; after all, Touya didn’t even remember where he first met Yuki at first.
Should be interesting to see what happened with Gouzou to make Touya hate him so. I figured it was just because Gouzou kicked his loser son out of the house, but I guess there is more to it than that.
I think Touya and Haruka did more than kiss. There are two wet towels and two slippers by the bed in the scene before he leaves the cabin.
You could be right; it would be in keeping with how other Touya copulation scenes were shown. I guess that guy really can talk himself into anything!
You were expecting anything less from the guy? There are only a few females left from the game that he didn’t have his way with (and yet he still finds some excuse for his horrible behavior!), and hilariously one of them is the ‘girlfriend’ he hasn’t broken up with! The other two are Mana and Rina, but I’m guessing it’s more due to the mixed-route nature of the show than anything else (which for once did something good though we’ll see how long that lasts).
Incidentally if I remember right, Haruka’s game EV scenes were IN the bathroom.
Maybe the idea of sleeping with an idol grosses him out now haha!
I’m going with the fact that Touya and Haruka ended up in bed and then Touya decided to ‘go to the washroom’.
The one thing I found really funny was how the cab took off so quickly once Mana got in. I mean, if you were a cab driver, would you:
1) Wait for the guy who just paid you a ton of money to drive to the middle of nowhere and who said he’d come back, and is now running after your cab?
2) Leave immediately when some 16 year old girl who may have no money random jumped into your cab leaving the paying customer behind?
Either that taxi driver is a childhood enemy of Touya’s or this is that crazy Canaan taxi driver before he moved to Shangai =3.
He told the cabbie that his loli girlfriend’s mom was going to pay the cab fare when they got back to town… that’s the only scenario that I can come up with for him yelling “Keep the meter running!” when he can’t even collect his money at the student union. Seeing as how Touya didn’t have any cash anyway, the cabbie didn’t have any reason to stay.
If Haruka had been wearing her puffy vest, Touya probably would have spent a few extra days at the retreat exploring haruka hollows. Which is actually a nice change of pace from Yayoi caverns.
I got the feeling Yayoi WANTED the infidelities exposed to generate a gap between Yuki and Touya, so I don’t know what to think about the negative-transaction.
We’re running out of time here. Yayoi has to break and do something crazy then reveal her messed up past.
LOL @ the puffy vest comment. Now that we’ve seen the goods, it makes that scene so much funnier.
Interesting point about Yayoi wanting things exposed. I guess that would make sense, but Yuki sees so little of Touya already, so what would be the point?
Yayoi is hot, and she won’t take no for an answer. Hell, she’ll even pay for it, so what doesn’t make sense here?
Touya totally bagged Haruka though. He gave her the long and boring speech about how he was using her… and then he stayed and played and used her some more. Haruka is going to end up pregnant and Touya-less and will have to quit college and tennis.
Though this episode was marred by a lack of Yayoi scenes, it did lay the groundwork for the Rina/Yuki Venus Battle as you mentioned, so it wasn’t a complete waste. I was really disappointed that the whole Yayoi blackmail thing boiled down to her relationship with Touya though, because that had hardly begun when Yayoi got the first letter and the weird calls. It seems like such a waste that Touya is her dark secret.
And I was a bit confused about Mr. Fujii… since when do heart problems bring on dementia? I guess him spacing out will give Mana a chance to tackle Touya uninterrupted though, since her mom keeps walking in on them at her place.
This actually really depresses me
I kinda want to know what Yayoi was going to do to Yuki in the car, though.
As far as Yayoi and Yuki in the car, I think that was more of the weird tenderness that Yayoi has for Yuki. She’d been up all night practicing Eiji’s song and Yayoi didn’t have the heart to wake her from her slumber to go upstairs. That, or she was going to smother her, but stopped herself when she remembered that they were in broad daylight. Either way.
