Summary:
No one really understands how Alicia could get gravely wounded taking inventory, but Welkin moves Squad 7 to the front lines to stop the assault. Georg raises a valid point in asking Cordelia to fight Selvaria, but Cordelia is a lover and not a fighter. Since there’s only one extra set of Ragnite weapons, Cordelia doesn’t get shot in the back; instead, Faldio takes Cordelia hostage in order to have the spear and shield brought to Alicia’s bed.
Although Alicia’s wounds have mostly healed, even the Ragnite equipment fails to wake Alicia. Faldio tries to get Alicia to wake up so he won’t feel guilty, but obviously this is not a very convincing argument. However, when Alicia hears that Welkin is making out with retreating from Selvaria, she goes Valkyrur and grabs the gear to go pwn the Imperial forces. Even though Selvaria has more experience being a Valkyrur, she gets completely dominated and barely manages to save Maximilian from Alicia’s assault.
Reaction:
We finally get the fight between Selvaria and Alicia and it wasn’t competitive at all! I think the natural conclusion that we can draw from this is that Selvaria is actually a total weaksauce Valkyrur, only slightly better that Cordelia. I bet back in the day, all the other Valkyrur would have made fun of Selvaria; there’s a good chance that Selvaria recognized loli-Alicia as one of the other Valkyrur who wouldn’t let Selvaria join in any Valkyrur games. There is also the possibility that Selvaria is using some gimped, old, clunky gear that was dumped in the library while Alicia’s sleek iShield and iSpear were the newest models.
Faldio’s pretty lucky that his books weren’t troll-jobs, although as bad as losing Alicia would have been, it would have been awesome to watch Eleanor take out Faldio. Welkin did a pretty good job against Selvaria, but unfortunately all the regular squads didn’t keep the Imperial tanks at bay. I liked how Alicia was walking around with her shirt open while everyone just stared in amazement. It was pretty crappy of Faldio to force this on Alicia without informed consent, but I guess shooting Cordelia and finding out the legends were wrong would have had greater consequences than team-killing a militia comrade.

Lol yeah Selvaria was totally weaksauce. No wonder Radi and the other Imps ditched her and Maximillian at the end.
The animation during the Alicia vs. Selvaria fight was lacking. Too many jerky, slow-mo flips. Despite this the Valkyrur fight was still better (and made more sense) than all the other previous battles though.
That’s a pretty low standard. Also, I thought maybe Maximilian had some skills but apparently he is completely useless when he doesn’t have an overwhelming advantage in army size/strength. I mean, when you go against Georg, how can you do so poorly?
Personally, I’m glad the show has gone into superpowered girls firing lasers at each other. I showed up at ep. 1 hoping to see actual strategy and intelligent tactics but instead it was immediately apparent I wasn’t going to get any of that. I don’t know how I talked myself into watching all the episodes after that, but since they can’t do the military aspect right, dbz fights are probably an improvement.
This is true. The strategy aspects of this show have been staggeringly terrible. I feel sad for the Edelweiss, though.
