Summary:
Akira ditches Mikuru and Saki to go chat with Daiju, but he keeps his phone on so that Saki can listen in on the conversation. Akira is surprised to hear Daiju talking about an imminent victory, and Daiju reveals that he has worked his way up the ATO corporate ladder to gather information on Mr. Outside. Daiju believes that Mr. Outside is actually Ato Saizo, the president and senior advisor of ATO, because Saizo helped rebuild Japan after WWII and loved Brazilian soccer. This coincides with Saizo’s huge fortune, although Saizo has to be over 100-years old and he contracted terminal cancer at the start of the game. Daiju also believes that Juiz is actually an advanced computer AI system, and he plans to take control of this system.
Daiju wants to become the new Mr. Outside, and to this end he has hired both Ryo and Selecao #2, Tsuji Jintaro. Ryo got stuck caring for his sick parents, and could never get ahead in society, and Jintaro just wants the stupid game to end. Daiju believes that Ryo’s newest idea (using 60 Tomahawk missiles this time) will free Japan of its elderly and NEETs. Akira refuses to join Daiju and leaves, but Daiju figures that victory is inevitable. On cue, mysterious Selecao #12 uses his first ¥5,000 to move Juiz to a secret location, and a woman with Juiz’s voice comes in to taunt Daiju.
Reaction:
What’s with all these cheaters? You know, I think it is awfully suspicious that both Jintaro and Selecao #12 never used any of their money, even though the rules said that you would be killed if you didn’t use funds for a long enough period of time. My suspicion is that Jintaro is the Supporter, and that he killed the original Selecao #2 or #12 (and took his/her phone). Daiju also revealed the reason why Akira purchased a memory wipe, and the reason was enough to make Saki cry. Saki even admits that she had hoped Careless Monday would bring about change, and that was before she got beef bowled.
Daiju is pretty clever in trying to bend the rules, which made it even better when the woman with Juiz’s voice (probably the Juiz system voice actress) came in and taunted him with an empty Bollinger bottle. I’m not sure how you can move a huge computer with only ¥5,000, but this wouldn’t be the first time Juiz used some fishy prices. It’s be funny if the reason that Akira originally fell into despair was because he found out the hot voice that he was chatting to didn’t belong to a cute customer representative, but rather a computer. Also, it’s interesting that the whole ship of NEETs returned this episode, although I have some serious problems with the captain of the ship. He/She totally crashed the ship through the bridge and scratched up the paint job on the hull!

I’ve said it before
and I’ll say it again:
Eden of the East has
too many naked men
The odd thing about the invasion of the naked NEETs is how it happened right on the eve of the missile attacks …
Good point! That timing is very suspicious… Oh well, chalk it up to convenient story-telling I guess.
