Summary:

It’s Faldio’s first time seeing a hacker azure witch, but he immediately recognizes Selvaria. No one believes that Selvaria is a Valkyrur, but when Alicia tries to shoot Maximilian, Selvaria gains a blue aura and becomes fast enough to knock away the bullet. Maximilian has what he came for, and so he meets his gigantic mole-tank fortress outside and fires on the library. Welkin gets separated from his comrades as the library collapses, but Isara is on top of the situation and helps pull him out of the rubble.

Faldio is really depressed, but Alicia cheers him up by believing in Welkin’s competence. Faldio then tells a story of how freshman Welkin attracted the beautiful Stellar Carter, accidentally insulted her, became “just friends” with her, rejected her, and still got invited to her wedding. The babysitting lizards (that Welkin wanted to see) show up to listen to the flashback story, and Welkin realizes that there must be a large hole for the big lizards to have crawled into the rubble. They find the hole, and everyone gets out safely. Alicia notices Welkin’s bloodied hands (from frantically tossing boulders), but he quickly changes the subject by asking about the babysitting lizards. Elsewhere, Berthold dominated Major Babel’s forces at Fouzen and had the nincompoop executed.

Reaction:

Oh how I loathe Ramal… Watching Ramal slowly walk over to the hole and then toss a few pebbles made me want to slam a wrench in his bigotdere face. He didn’t even help pull Welkin out! The rest of the episode was pretty good though. Maximilian’s tank was intimidating, but I noticed that the main cannon does not seem to have the ability to turn or rise/descend. I’m a little confused about the spear, though. Was it in the library, or did the library simply reveal the spear’s location? Either way, when Maximilian asked Selvaria if she was sad he was demolishing her lands I knew for sure she was hoping he would wipe out all the ruins so that she could move in with him. Soooooo typical!

I also like the way the Alicia-Welkin relationship is progressing. I don’t think they’re really in love just yet, especially considering how eager and happy Alicia was to hear about Welkin’s past with Stellar. Her complete lack of jealousy tells me that she just considers Welkin a good friend at this point, but Welkin’s heroism this episode has set things in motion. The bloody torn gloves were a really nice touch, too.

My inner fangirl is squealing for a Faldio x Ramal doujin. Isara x Ramal is okay too I suppose, but he’ll be taking the submissive role in both situations~

Actually, Selvaria wanted to move in with me, not Max. It was in the game.

It’s obvious that Welkin cares a lot about the lizards than Alicia ;)

Totally agree about Ramal. Hopefully Isara will answer our prayers and give him a wrench in the face.

I noticed in this episode that Welkin’s got some tremendous upper body strength. I’m sure Alicia’s not that heavy, but when Welkin tossed her to Faldio she got some decent air. Plus he moved a few very large boulders, so I guess he’s packing more guns than I originally thought!

Haha you’re right. I guess being fit comes in handy when Welkin needs to get to the hard-to-reach places so he can get his animal sketches.

Max’s Batomys front main cannon can move like a regular turret, except each shot requires the cannon to cool down extensively lol, by revealing 3 weak spot radiators! He’s a boss fight in the game.

A silly question: why did those lizards go under ruins in the first place?

Another silly question: was the time while Maximillian walked from the building to his tank not enough for Faldio to finish? There were plenty of kilometers.

Ramal is an egoistic baka by the way.

I think they mentioned something about the lizards taking shelter in the ruins. As for Faldio, he was probably too busy dancing in celebration to translate all the walls. God forbid someone actually take a camera to the ruins…
