Summary:
After relating how she turned down a marriage proposal from a rich lolicon, Kei volunteers Dobashi Rika for the 100-meter dash in the upcoming sports festival. In retaliation, Rika volunteers Kei for the cheer committee, forcing Kei to lead the group along with Etsu. When Etsu unveils his designs for the girls’ outfits (bikinis, short skirts, and Class 2-2 panties), Kei is pissed (especially since he only drew Koyoi, Ayumi, and Rika) and bans him from helping her make the outfits. Unfortunately, everyone else has club activities and so Kei is stuck making all the outfits by herself.
Kei is pleased with the uniform she designed, but it has taken her many days just to finish one outfit. Kei ends up falling asleep the afternoon before the festival, and when she wakes up, she is surprised to see Etsu expertly working the sewing machine in her place. Kei finds herself strangely attracted to the kappa-face… until he mumbles that he has to help or else he won’t get to see Koyoi or Ayumi in the cute outfits. This leads to Kei accidentally knocking Etsu unconscious and so the backup plan is to have the girls borrow boy’s uniform tops and wear red skirts while Etsu wears the one finished cheerleader outfit (complete with 2-2 panties). Etsu takes it in stride enthusiastically, and Kei can’t admit to herself that she is crushing on him.
Reaction:
It was obvious from the beginning that Kei was totally tsundere for Etsu, especially when he is facing away from her. I get the feeling Etsu also likes Kei, since he didn’t want her to see the sweetly creepy picture he took of her sleeping. It’s like Etsu doesn’t want to be especially lecherous about Kei out of respect, but this only pisses Kei off because she wants him to be lecherous about her instead of other girls. That date in the beginning was absolutely hilarious, and I loved how Kei assumed the giant engagement ring was just a birthday gift. It was also sweet how the lolicon tried to convince her that he’d be willing to wait until she was 16. Marriage is all about compromising.
There were some other romantic inklings introduced, and Rika was acting rather strangely this episode. I didn’t understand why Rika was so unenthusiastic about the sprint or why she was so mysterious about the owner of the uniform top she borrowed. She also a moment with that shy guy (Terai Haruto) who clearly likes her, but it didn’t seem like she felt the same way about him.

Wasn’t a big fan of this ep, as I thought the Kei-Kusuda pairing was a little forced and predictable. But next episode looks really funny. Bro-complex – horrifying in real life. Hilarious in anime life.
Kei is pretty hot… and tsundere as well. Too bad her tsundere turned Kusuda off and made it so that the guys didn’t get to see the girls in cheerleader uniform.
Looks like you didn’t check out the manga yet. Otherwise you would have figured out that
I thought it was cute. I enjoyed the tsundere-from-the-perspective-of-the-tsundere thing. The series is still nothing to write home about, but I can’t say it’s not pleasant.
