Summary:

For some reason, Neeba fires all the Tower of Neeba cannons at Ishtar’s place, and Ishtar fires back. Ironically, Jil gets a copy of the map from Gremica, before picking up a new sword from Kelb and a new shield from Ethana. When Jil’s party reaches the Iron Shrine level, Kaaya and Jil go on ahead, and Melt, Coopa, Utu, and Fatina tank the armies of CG trash mobs. Utu even asks Fatina to marry him after the fight, and gets turned down. Kaaya gets delayed next by Succubus and her genjutsu, so Jil goes on alone. There he finds Neeba with a partially undressed, fully dead Gremica.

Jil always knew that Neeba had a major inferiority complex and was frustrated at how stupid Jil kept catching up to him. Fortunately, Kaaya gave Jil some nice buffs beforehand, and Jil is eventually able to strike Neeba down and destroy the Tower. We then get a little flash-forward to see how everyone is doing.

  • The Tower is destroyed and Kaaya is now queen.
  • We see Kelb (in a kilt) and Ethana get married, while Utu catches the bouquet.
  • Utu and tsundere Fatina spend a lot of time together rebuilding Kally’s village and spreading Kally’s legend while leading new groups of noobs in dungeon diving.
  • Kai’s spirit uses a spoon on Cilgamesh’s spirit’s butt, even though he is sitting and wearing armor.
  • Loli-Succubus has wings, but still fails at attacking spirit-Neeba’s butt with a wooden acorn spoon.
  • Ahra gets a man, and all the tavern girls are jealous.
  • GreenHair drinks her troubles away.
  • There are some clones of old Gilgamesh and older Kai in the crowd of adventurers.
  • Melt grows sideburns like Kelb, but it doesn’t help him and Coopa in preventing Kaaya from sneaking out with Jil to observe Ahmey’s broken spear atop the Tower’s ruins.
  • No mention of Uragon, because he is probably a pedophile now.

Reaction:

What was the point of Gremica? I have to admit, I was laughing so much when Jil came in and necrophile Neeba had already removed Gremica’s skirt. Then I was cheering as Jil used his shield for protection when Neeba hurled Gremica’s huge rack at Jil. We never found out exactly what Neeba’s problem was or who Ishtar was, but the at least the emo-battle of stock footage ended.

I also have to wonder what exactly Climbers will climb. The Tower is pretty small now. And aren’t all the monsters homeless? I figure Utu will eventually wear down Fatina unless Jil has some more brothers we don’t know about. I noticed Utu waited until just the right moment to grab Fatina’s thighs/butt, knowing that Coopa would bail everyone out. I liked watching Coopa melee with the golf bag, and Kaaya was really sweet when she told Succubus that she didn’t rely on men for everything. Also, the ending to Jil and Neeba’s battle was totally (half) incestuously shounen-ai.

It was kind of fitting that, for all his earlier justification at being angry at the world, the real reason why Neeba was such a douche was plain vanilla jealousy.

The only feasible thing I can think of is that Neeba was so incredibly angry that his dad taught Jil the Roper Dance that there was no way to contain the jealousy and angst.

Well, we saw the power of the Roper Dance, so I guess that could be it. I like how apparently in anime girls get slapped out of their delusions, where guys get killed out of them. :P

I also liked how Jil blocked Neeba’s Gremica throw (what the hell did he do to kill her?), and how he instantly looked back thinking to himself “maybe I shouldn’t have done that”.

Actually I believe that’s Gilgamesh’s sword and Jil’s shield from Aegis of Uruk, that went missing after they got flushed down in ep12.

Gremica wanted to revive the Sumar empire and obviously wanted to kill Neeba for his betrayal of her cause & to avenge her assistant Acra’s death, but obviously that didn’t went too well against half Druaga Neeba.

Poor Uran got forgotten by Gonzo, not even an appearance in the epilogue.

Ishtar is the goddess from Babylonian mythology. Druaga games and the anime takes after a mix of Babylonian and Sumerian mythology.

I was wondering how they were gonna address the question about the next ruler of the kingdom, guess they went with Kaaya because of her bloodline.

I like the ending shot of Ahmey’s spear, signifying to Jil and Kaaya what Ahmey said to Jil back in ep7, “Move forward”.

Admittedly it felt kinda rushed trying to cram in everything into 1 ep, would have been better to have an extra ep as the epilogue to tie everything together.

“No mention of Uragon, because he is probably a pedophile now.” -> looool, this one was excellent!!!
No seriously, I was expecting some shounen-like fight for the last one, but it looked like a parody. And unfortunately, I think it wasn’t one. What was this scene with Jil crying over the body of Neeba, and Neeba admitting he was jealous? Where was his supposely pride? I laughed all the episode long, but the nervous kind of laugh…

People can say what they want about Gonzo, but truth be told they never miss an opportunity for a weirdly out-of-place panty shot.

The ending was rushed T.T
And Neeba’s reason for why he did all of the things . . . eh barely justified.

Don’t wanna necro this, but while Uragon isn’t seen here, somehow Uragon is shown in the end in this youtube vid (mentioned in wiki too) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGcSvhYhtpQ
